This is the World Series that many expected. It's the Series that many wanted, and it's the Series that we got. The Yankees finished with more wins that anybody ever has, and the 103-win Nationals weren't slouches either. Both teams will field pitching staffs that are on fire, with the Nationals allowing 3 or more runs twice so far in the playoffs, and the Yankees running out a staff that's lost ten times in three months. There are slaughterhouse position battles all over the field. Didi and Trea Turner at shortstop. Gleyber Torres and Anthony Rendon at third. Juan Soto paces Washington's outfield against Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton. While the Yankees appear to have a slight talent edge, Washington's staff has been an equalizer, and they may have enough to make this a Fall Classic to remember.
MLB.com prediction: Yankees win series, 4-3
