Giants Drop Home Series to Rockies 3-1

Hope everyone had a great Easter! Unfortunately when I was playing my game against the Rockies, something happened and I lost the progress on it. Instead of replaying the game, I just decided to sim the series, so here is the series recap:

April 11:
(7-7) Colorado Rockies 5, (4-10) San Francisco Giants 1
W: T. Anderson (1-0), L: D. Pomeranz (1-2)
COL: T. Anderson - CG, ER, 5 Ks, 2 RBI
COL: N. Arenado - 1/4 HR (3)

April 12:
(5-10) San Francisco Giants 13, (7-8) Colorado Rockies 6
W: D. Holland (1-2), L: C. Bettis (0-2)
SF: T. Austin - 2/5 HR (1), 2B, 6 RBI
COL: G. Hampson - 3/5 2 2B, 2 RBI

April 13:
(8-8) Colorado Rockies 5, (5-11) San Francisco Giants 1
W: K. Freeland (2-2), L: M. Bumgarner (0-2)
COL: T. Wolters - 2/3 HR (1), 2B, 2 RBI
COL: K. Freeland - 7 IP, ER, 5 BBs

April 14:
(9-8) Colorado Rockies 12, (5-12) San Francisco Giants 4
W: M. Dunn (2-0), L: S. Dyson (0-2)
COL: N. Arenado - 2/4 HR (4), RBI
COL: D. Dahl - 4/5 HR (4), 3 RBI

On Deck

April 16-18: 3-game series at Washington Nationals (7-7)
April 19-21: 3-game series at Pittsburgh Pirates (10-5)
April 23-24: 2-game series at Toronto Blue Jays (7-9)

The Giants head on the road for the next 3 series, including a quick inter league showdown against the Blue Jays. The Giants have a chance to steal some games and increase their win total. Will that happen? We'll have to see. Before that, the Giants have an off day, so we are going to spend that day checking in on our Double-A affiliate the Richmond Flying Squirrels to take a look at some prospects within the organization. We will see pitching prospect Tyler Beede take take the mound as well as power hitting lefty Chris Shaw. Beede has a chance at maybe being a September call up while Chris Shaw may be ready for Triple-A.

Around the League

-Yankees pitcher C.C. Sabathia collected strikeout number 3000 in his last outing on April 14th against the Chicago White Sox. Sabathia is just the 17th pitcher to achieve this accomplishment.

On an unrelated note, I am glad some of you are enjoying this franchise and I am excited to be able to keep bringing it to you guys. With that being said, I was thinking about potentially doing another franchise in another sports game. That way I have something to counterbalance baseball. This will still be my main franchise, especially since it's the newest game, but let me know if you guys want to see another sport. Any feedback is good and I appreciate it.

I encourage that. I have three going right now(Madden, 2K, The Show) and it's been nice to keep myself from getting transfixed and too much into one game. The most important part of this is you having fun with it!

Could be cool if you tied it in with another San Fran team, maybe the 49ers. Then you could even do some crossover stuff.

Not a bad idea. Could do like a Bay Area News. I could even rebuild the Golden State Warriors too (jk about the Warriors part. But I may do another franchise).

Tyler Beede Delivers Stellar Performance as Flying Squirrels Top Yard Goats 4-1

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D4y99hoXoAEg_Dh.jpg:large

Richmond starting pitcher Tyler Beede showed why he has a bright future ahead of him as he put down the Yard Goats today, going 6 innings and striking out 6. Outfield prospect Chris Shaw had an RBI double as well. Outside of the big fly from former major leaguer Craig Gentry and SS Scott Burcham, the Yard Goat offense was nonexistent today.

April 15:
(7-4) Richmond Flying Squirrels 4, (6-6) Hartford Yard Goats 1
RIC: T. Beede - 6 IP, ER, 6 Ks
HAR: S. Burcham - 3/4
