Green and Gold Three years in (Oakland Athletics franchise starting year 4)

Ok, let me explain...

this is a carryover franchise that I started in 2018 on 18'. I'm currently entering year four in 2021. This team has won three consecutive World Series. So we have already built a dynasty.

I have been over here in this area several times over the past 10 years plus. I have never really carried out any of my franchises here. However, with this one, I am deeply invested in this franchise.

In 2018 the A's beat the Dodgers to win the world series

In 2019 the A's beat the Giants to win the world series

and most recently I have beaten the Rockies to win the world series.

There have been many changes to the roster over the past three years that make up this team. I am extremely happy with this current build of this team.
This team at its core are all signed through no earlier than the 2023-24 season. So this part of this franchise has at least two to three more years of life.

My goal with this franchise is to play it until the current roster all retire and I'm left with players that I don't recognize.

I do play this game for fun, not to grind out wins, or to replicate the real MLB season or whatever. I have tried playing on the A.S. level and just get extremely frustrated over time and had to put the game out of my mind before I just lost it.

So yes I play on Rookie but again it is a game so I play to enjoy it. So if this is not for you or you feel you will not enjoy this, you don't have to follow.

For those of you that wish to follow I hope that I can bring you some enjoyment from this. All views, likes, and comments are appreciated.

Re: Green and Gold Three years in (Oakland Athletics franchise starting year 4)

OPENING DAY 2021

If this is how the season is going to play out for the A's in 2021, I really feel for the opposition this season. The A's came out laser-focused to start the season in game one.

Sean Manaea may have pitched the greatest game of his career. Easily going eight innings and striking out thirteen Orioles hitters.

The offense was on fire in the season opener today. They amassed six home runs against the Orioles pitching. Three of them coming off the bat of designated hitter Khris Davis. Five of their eleven runs scores where from him alone.

Chapman, Odor, and Broxton went deep in this one as well. Even the rookie catcher Joseph Blake collected his very first hit in the very first game of his major league career.

Just a quick side note, Odor is now on pace to just 162 home runs this year. Davis is on pace to hit 426 home runs this season and drive in 810 runs.

Neither of which has any chance of happening as we know but it is always fun to speculate.

Re: Green and Gold Three years in (Oakland Athletics franchise starting year 4)

there seems to be absolutely no World Series hangover from last season as the A's have come out ready to let everyone know that nothing they have done over the course of the previous three seasons has been a fluke.

They are on a mission to prove that they are still the team to beat in all of baseball. Once again thy throttled the Orioles in just the second game of the series and season.

This game was more of the same from the pitching side for the A's with two times defending Cy Young award winner Daniel Mengden on the mound. He wasn't as sharp as Manaea was in game one. However, he was good enough to go into the seventh inning allowing just one hit.

The offense for the A's continues to put the upmost fear into pitchers. As they once again were hitting bombs and lasers all over the field. The Reigning MVP in the American League Rougned Odor is off to a hot start. As he hit two more home runs in game two of the season.

Re: Green and Gold Three years in (Oakland Athletics franchise starting year 4)

ok, that is it for me until Wednesday. I work 12-hr days at my job. I also am on swing shift every month. So in a couple of weeks, I will be transitioning to the night shift.

So the next games that will be played are on Wednesday and Thursday. Just know that this is a big part of my heart and his franchise will go on as long as I am able to keep it going.

I just want to take the time to say thank you to each and every one of you that are supporting this. it is greatly appreciated.

Great start to continuing the dynasty! I’m curious to see the overalls of your guys.

That outfield is scary, but apparently the infield is even scarier – Odor and Semien breaking records and all.
