Re: The Coaching Career of Ithacus

Go Rutgers! This is looking somewhat better than the real season worked out. This is awesome to finally see someone doing a Rutgers dynasty. I might have to try one myself.

N'Diaye's Near Triple Double Leads Rutgers Over Struggling Mountaineers
Hamady D'Niaye controlled the post all game, and kicked the ball out for open jumpers, leading to 12 points, 6 rebounds, and a career high 11 assists. Rutgers jumped on West Virginia immediatly and controlled the game the entire way. The Mountaineers got the lead down to single digits in the final minutes, but couldn't bring it any closer than that. The Mountaineers came into this season with high expectations, but are quickly leaving them unfulfilled. West Virginia falls to 7-10 on the season and 1-5 in the Big East after this game, as Rutgers continues to rise in the standings. The Scarlet Knights return home from their roadtrip with three straight wins and have some rest before facing Georgetown on Friday.

Yeah it is definitely turning out better than I expected. Perhaps too much so. I tweaked the sliders against myself before the WVU game, but I might have to do so again. Thanks for reading!

Season Update
With Rutgers halfway through their Big East season, the world is turned upside down in the Big East. The bottom of the standings are littered with ranked teams, while the Rutgers, South Floridas, and DePauls of the world reign supreme. At 6-3, Rutgers is off to an unforeseen fast start that even Rutgers boosters couldn't have hoped for. Losses to South Florida and DePaul are looking not quite as bad. But its Rutgers Big East wins that are drawing attention. Despite Pitt's poor start, they are still projected to be a tournament team. The Scarlet Knights have a rare home/road sweep of Marquette, the current Big East leader, not to mention a road victory at #24 Syracuse, the #1 team in the RPI rankings. Despite all this, a weak non-conference schedule has left Rutgers even off the bubble so far in Joe Lunardi's bracketology. If the Scarlet Knights can continue to build on what they accomplished in the first half of Big East play, a tournament bid just might be possibly for this up-and-coming team.

Scarlet Knights Fall to Monroe, Hoyas at Home
Mike Rosario's rally in the final minutes was not enough as the Scarlet Knights came up just short in their bid to knock off Georgetown. The Hoyas, lead by Greg Monroe, who was a monster inside with 14 points and 11 rebounds, moved into the national rankings and the lead for a Big East title with the win. Both teams played well for the entire game, but it simply came down to Georgetown making a better percentage of their shots. Rutgers has more than a week off before facing the Pirates at Seton Hall on February 1st.

D'Niaye's Triple Double Leads Rutgers to Blow Out of Rival Seton Hall
Hamady D'Niaye continues to dominate in Big East play, filling up the stat sheet. Against the Pirates, N'Diaye notched his first career triple double with 18 points, 14 rebounds, 12 assists, 3 blocks and 1 steal. N'Diaye's spectacular play energized Rutgers and kept the game from ever being close. The Scarlet Knights had six players in double figures, including all five starters and lead by double digits the from shortly after the opening tip. Rutgers has a week off before having to face Notre Dame at home.
