Re: Lead Us to the Promised Land - Keno Davis Dynasty

@ Marquette
January 17th, 2009

The Friars hoped this game would be enough to give them so respect, as they went up to Marquette and dominated the Golden Eagles, 65-51.

Marshon Brooks had 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists, and Greedy Peterson added 17 points and 12 rebounds for the Friars.

Lazar Hayward led Marquette with 20 points and 16 rebounds in the loss.

The Friars (15-2, 5-1) return home to face South Florida (6-9, 1-4) on 1/23.

Bracketology (1/18/10)

Although still unranked, the 15-2 Friars have put themselves in good tournament position, as Bracketology currently holds them as the "Best of the Rest." (This is in reference to the best teams who would not earn an automatic bid for winning their conference).

South Florida
January 23rd, 2010

South Florida missed a shot with 13 seconds left and Providence escaped with a 64-62 win at the Dunkin Donuts Center.

Marshon Brooks had 35 points and 15 rebounds in the win, and Greedy Peterson added 11 points and 9 rebounds of his own for the Friars.

Rivas had 12 points and 17 rebounds for South Florida, and Gilchrist had 12 points for the Bulls in the loss.

The Friars (16-2, 6-1) will stay at home where they face the #22 UCONN Huskies (11-5, 3-3) as part of Rivalry Week on 1/27.

Re: Lead Us to the Promised Land - Keno Davis Dynasty

I think that I need to take some time off so that I can go back and take a look at "The Dunk" since the remodeling.

I have been a fan of the Friars since I was a kid. They were an independent school back then because there was no Big East conference. Ernie D. and Marvin Barnes were the "stars" of the team.

Let's go Friars!

#21 UCONN
January 27th, 2010

In a rivalry game during rivalry week, UCONN used a 24-0 run in the first half to run away with this game at the Dunk, 86-62.

Dyson had 25 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists for the Huskies, while Oriakhi added 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Brooks had 19 points and 6 assists, while Peterson had 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Friars.

The Friars (16-3, 6-2) next face Cincinnati (10-7, 4-4) on the road in what should be a sold-out arena.

@ Cincinnati
January 30th, 2010

In an uncharacteristically low-score Big East contest, the Friars went back and forth with the Bearcats before pulling away late, 57-50.

Brooks led the Friars with 28 points, and a balanced attack helped the Friars get by in this one.

Stephenson had 20 points for the Bearcats in the loss.

The Friars (17-3, 7-2) stay on the road where they will face #7 Syracuse (17-4, 8-1) on 2/2.
