Re: Fear the Deer - Milwaukee Bucks (2k10)

With the 4th Selection in the 2010 NBA Draft, the Milwaukee Bucks select...

Greg Monroe, PF from Georgetown University

Instant Analysis: The Bucks went after a PF and probably the most skilled all around PF in the draft. Monroe has great athleticism and was ranked the #1 player coming out of high school, when he selected Georgetown. He is a good rebounder, has decent range on his jump shot, and solid post moves with his back to the basket. Milwaukee didn't have any PFs on its roster and Monroe fills a need and is definitely a talented big man. They had considered drafting John Wall, but with Brandon Jennings at PG, there was no need and didn't feel comfortable moving either Wall or Jennings to the off guard in the future.

With the 16th Selection in the 2010 NBA Draft, the Milwaukee Bucks select...

Gordon Hayward, SF from Butler University

Instant Analysis: Gordon Hayward is an all-around team player. He led the Butler Bulldogs to the national title game last season and really showed his athleticism and team leading abilities. He struggled from beyond the arc last season, but during his freshman year, he shot nearly 40% from 3pt range. Hayward is a great rebounder from the SF position, especially on the offensive glass. At 6'8", Hayward can play PG through PF and gives the Bucks versatility.

Re: Fear the Deer - Milwaukee Bucks (2k10)

With the 22nd Selection in the 2010 NBA Draft, the Milwaukee Bucks select...

Ed Davis, PF from the University of North Carolina

Instant Analysis: Milwaukee went after another PF with their final pick in the first round. The Bucks get another super long player to go along with Monroe. However, Davis is not as skilled in the low post position. Davis will need to find his niche in the offense as an offensive rebounder and energy guy. Monroe is going to be the more skill big man for the Bucks, but Davis has the potential to be good as well. This is a questionable pick for the Bucks as they could have used it on a back up PG or SG. Davis does provide depth and if the Bucks strike out in free agency, they will need that desperately.

Re: Fear the Deer - Milwaukee Bucks (2k10)

With the 32nd Selection in the 2010 NBA Draft, the Milwaukee Bucks select...

Andy Rautins, PG/SG from Syracuse University

Instant Analysis: Milwaukee got their backup point guard they wanted in the 2nd Round with Rautins. The Bucks secretly had coveted Rautins all along and really liked his ability to play off the ball alongside Jennings as well. Rautins had a solid season at PG for the Orange and really found his stroke from beyond the 3pt arc. He has range and can definitely extend that well beyond the NBA 3pt line. Rautins isn't a true point and Willie Warren was still on the board, so some will question this move, but Rautins gives the Bucks more options and another shooter to stretch the defense.
