#18 Georgia Tech defeats Notre Dame 81-73 to win the US Virgin Islands Paradise Jam Tournament

November 21, 2010
Marist (1-3) at Colgate (1-4)

Colgate falls for the fifth straight game, losing at home 72-44 to Marist. Once again, no Raiders steps up in scoring as all of them fail to reach double-digits for the second consecutive game. Brandon James led the way with 7 points (2-8 FG) and 6 rebounds.

Marist was led by the duo of Korey Bauer (13 points and 12 rebounds) and Sam Prescott (11 points, 3-4 FG) as they led by as much as 25 points in the first half.

November 24, 2010
Dartmouth (1-3) at Colgate (1-5)

Colgate finally ends their losing streak by taking down Dartmouth 74-55 at home. Brandon James continues to lead the Raiders, scoring 16 points on 5-10 FG. Yaw Gywau added 15 points and Mitch Rolls added 10 points and 7 assists off the bench. With Mike Venezia not performing up to par, it has been hinted that Venezia's starting position will be taken by Rolls.

Next week's games:
11/26
at Notre Dame (2-2)
12/1 at Cornell (1-3)

Coach's Comments
"It was a tough week for our boys, so I'm glad we were able to end it off with a win. I would have liked to get a win during the tournament, but maybe next year. As for the loss to Marist, we were flat out tired. The game was just two days after the end of the tournament, so flying home took a lot of energy out of our guys. Next week will be tough with Notre Dame, but we've seen what they bring to the table."

Re: A CH2k8 Coach Legacy - The Life and Times of Tyrell Coley

Week of November 26-December 2, 2010

November 26, 2010
Colgate (2-5) at Notre Dame (3-2)

Colgate and Notre Dame met up for the 2nd time in 11 days, and both times ended up in the same result. The Irish were just too strong for the Raiders to play against, taking a 83-58 win in South Bend.

For the third time this season, no player scored in double figures for Colgate. Mitch Rolls and Brandon James each had 9 points for the Raiders, while the Irish had a lot better luck (no pun intended). Eric Atkins had a great game with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals. Tyrone Nash added 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Tim Abromaitis and Scott Martin each had 13 points. But it was Jerian Grant who led the Irish, coming off the bench to score 20 points in 21 minutes on the floor.

December 1, 2010
Colgate (2-6) at Cornell (1-4)

Colgate bounced back from their loss to Notre Dame by taking down the Cornell Big Red, winning 66-53 on the road. Sterling Melville led the way with 15 points and 7 rebounds off the bench, while Brandon James and Chad Johnson added 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Mark Coury led Cornell with 14 points, but the team's 18 turnovers and 18 fouls were too much to overcome.

Next Week's Schedule
12/5
vs Binghamton (4-3)

Coach's Comments
"I wish we could have beaten Notre Dame, their a real tough team and really showed it on the floor. I feel our boys are gaining experience, and it's showing now. Picking up the win over Cornell lifted our guys morale."

I really like your weekly layout. I plan on simming a bulk of the WAC schedule this year, and I am thinking I might borrow this layout to post my game results.

Thanks, I appreciate it. Doing the weekly thing makes it easier for me to play more games, I always feel like it takes a longer amount of time when I play one game at a time before updating.

Re: A CH2k8 Coach Legacy - The Life and Times of Tyrell Coley

Week of December 3-December 9, 2010
AT
Binghamton (4-3) at Colgate (3-6)
Cotterell Court - Hamilton, NY
December 5, 2010

Colgate came out the game on fire, hitting 8-of-10 threes in the first half to take a commanding 41-24 lead at halftime. The Raiders decided to slow down the tempo even more than they had already done in the first half, and it almost cost them the game. Binghamton made a furious comeback that would have been complete if SG Moussa Camara's 3 with 1.1 seconds to go hadn't clanked off the rim. Colgate grabbed the rebound and escaped with a 55-53 victory at Cotterell Court.

Team Stats......Colgate...Binghamton
Field Goals.......21-55.....22-51
3-Pointers........10-22.....1-9
Free Throws.....3-6........8-14
Rebounds.........37.........27
Assists/TO.......18/7.......16/2

Colgate Key Players
Chad Johnson: 13 points (5-9 FG, 3-5 3P), 3 assists
Brandon James: 13 points (5-15 FG, 3-6 3P)
Mitch Rolls: 9 points (3-6 3P), 5 assists
Nick Pascale: 9 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists

Binghamton Key Players
Taylor Johnston: 10 points, 10 rebounds
Robert Mansell: 9 points, 6 rebounds

Next Week's Schedule
No Games Scheduled (Next Game: 12/18 at Syracuse (6-2) )

Coach's Comments:
"I'm glad we got the win, we played well enough in the first half to avoid losing it all in the second - though we did come close. We shot well, but I still want our guys to be aggressive, we can't settle for jumpers when they aren't falling. We've got a big game coming on December 18th at Syracuse, so we've got a lot of time to practice and prepare."
