Re: 29 and Tryin' | Coach Hansen

Haha Kennesaw seems like a fun team to play with but I felt like trying out the Big South because I knew of a couple teams that I could compete with.

The first game of the tourny, this game should be a breeze for Kennesaw, who's matching up against a MDES team that has an RPI of 318. Kennesaw is in rhythem and playing its best ball, Maryland is going to have to stop their offense and find a way to crack one of the best defenses among the Mid Major ranks.

Re: 29 and Tryin' | Coach Hansen

7-3 Kennesaw State- 83
2-4 MD-Eastern Shores- 48

Kennesaw State got their blowout on, blowing away Maryland Eatern Shores in the first round of the Vegas Invite Tourny. The Owl's collected a season high 42 rebounds, commited just 7 turnovers and forced 22 turnovers. Up until this game no Owl's player had recorded a double-double, but two players got one in this one, as Tasmin Schwartz (20 points, 10 assists) and Sheray Alpay (12 Points, 11 rebounds) became the first players under Coach Noah Hansen to do so.

"We couldn't have played better out there today, we were at our top game. I finally felt satisfied with the rebounding, and our offense was brilliant." Said Hansen.

Kennesaw State now advances to the second and final round of the tourny. Other notes on the game include Gregg Bouma's bad offensive performance, as he shot 3/14 from the field, and 0/5 from long range on his way to 6 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Trey Ballinger fouled out with 9:36 left in the second half, he left the game with 4 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 blocks.

Kennesaw Top Players-

Tasmin Schwartz- 20 Points, 6 reb, 10 ast, 6/7 3pts
Raoul Trammell- 20 points, 3 reb
Sheray Alpay- 12 points, 11 reb, 5 stl,

Preview- Kennesaw State Vs. Charleston Southern (Final Game of Vegas Invite)

VS.

Charleston Southern | Kennesaw State

Kennesaw is rolling, but lets not forget the last time they made it to the Final ROund of a tournament they choked. Kennesaw needs to play a full 40 minutes in this one. Charleston may be struggling to get to .500, but they are ranked higher in the RPI than some of Kennesaw's earlier opponents. Both teams are lead by young coaches looking to make their mark, so this game means a lot to both teams.

Re: 29 and Tryin' | Coach Hansen

8-3 Kennesaw State- 87
4-5 Charleston Southern- 62

Kennesaw State continues its roll by destroying Charleston Southern in the championship game of the Vegas Invite. Raoul Trammell scored the first 11 points of the game, on his way to a 32 point game, as the Owl's offense exploded for its most potent game of the season. Gregg Bouma added 17 points and 7 rebounds and Tasmin Schwartz ammased a season high 14 assists.

Charleston was able to hang with the Owl's for most of the game, but the Kennesaw defense allowed just 4 points over the last 13 minutes. Kennesaw has one more tournament, the Soda Pop Classic, remaining, before they get into the thick of their conference games. The Owl's are now on a five game win streak, in which their style of play has gone from a fastbreak bang-it-inside team, to a set up offense, one in which point guard Tas Schwartz has excelled.

"Whether its been Harvey (Ewing) or Raoul (Trammell) or Gregg (Bouma), Tas has done a good job of finding the hot hand out there, and the stats are really showing it." Said Coach Hansen.

Kennesaw Top Players-

Raoul Trammell- 32 points, 3 reb, 14/25 FGs, 4/5 3pts
Greg Bouma- 17 points, 7 reb, 8/14 FGs
Trey Ballinger- 11 points, 8 reb, 2 ast, 2 blocks
Tasmin Schwartz- 7 points, 5 reb, 14 ast

Re: 29 and Tryin' | Coach Hansen

Your team really seems to be on a roll and might be dangerous come March. You beat up on my old school UMES, but that's not saying much LOL. Winning the Soda Pop Classic would be nice to keep the momentum rolling and get you another trophy to take home.
