Although he's gotten off to an inconsistent start to the 2010-11 season, Gee has shown the potential to be a major contributor sometime down the road. With his athletic skill set and knack for finding a rhythm from beyond the arc, Gee could eventually develop into a 6th man of the year candidate or middle-of-the-pack starting shooting guard. The main thing his game lacks is consistency, but with his second 19 point performance of the season coming off the bench against the Nets on 11/9, Gee showed a glimmer of the promise this Cleveland organization hopes he will live up to.

Cavalier Chronicle
Weekly Wrap Up
Week of 11/14-11/20

Hickson has big week, Cavs win 2 of 3

J.J. Hickson is making a strong case for a starting spot, as he scored at least 23 in all 3 games this week

Maybe this Cleveland Cavaliers team isn't so dismal after all. In what was expected to be their toughest week yet, the team was able to come away with two decisive victories and one close loss as the players appeared to finally be gelling. The third week of November saw power forward J.J. Hickson average 24.3 points off the bench while Mo Williams and Anderson Varejao also had productive games. Although turnovers were still a bit of an issue like in preceding weeks, the Cavaliers were no longer plagued by shooting problems after shooting an impressive 61.8% against San Antonio.

"All we really needed was for our guys to get used to playing with each other and the new system. Any time you go from running your offense basically through entirely one guy to having to rely on everyone to contribute, there's going to be a transition period," explained Byron Scott.

Players expressed the same sentiments as their head coach; after the Spurs game Williams told reporters, "it looks like we've really turned a corner of late, I think we finally found our identity." The question remains, however, can they keep up this streak of good play? If the team goes on to struggle, will there be a fire sale? When will Hickson be given a chance to start? Perhaps some of these questions will be answered next week when the Cavaliers play four games.

Looks good. I don't normally follow the NBA to much, so I don't read alot of NBA Franchises, but I like your layout. Good luck rebuilding the Cav's.

Trade winds around Rockets
__________________________________________________

Brad Miller | Rockets
__________________________________________________

Now that Yao Ming is back on the court in Houston, there are a number of teams inquiring about Miller, and we hear the Rockets' front office is listening. Rumors have connected Miller with deals involving the Jazz, Pacers, Grizzlies, and Hornets, although representatives for Utah and Indiana have come out and said that there are no truth to the rumors at this point. One trade scenario that keeps popping up is Miller to New Orleans for David Anderson, but it is believed that the Rockets are in no particular rush to unload Miller given Yao's health record, so they are content with listening to more offers.

Hill gone if price is right
__________________________________________________

George Hill | Spurs
__________________________________________________

Many believe Hill could be the future of the Spurs franchise once its aging leaders near retirement. However, early reports out of San Antonio indicate they are fielding offers for the young guard. Many teams on the verge of youth movements have been in touch with Spurs' GM RC Buford, including Minnesota, Detroit, and Oklahoma City. Unfortunately, according to Thunder GM Sam Presti their asking price is too steep. For the time being it appears Hill will stay put, but who knows what the future holds.

Timetable for Gay's return?
__________________________________________________

Rudy Gay | Grizzlies
__________________________________________________

Initial reports on Gay's broken hand were that he would be out for the next 4-6 weeks. However, Memphis training personnel fears the worst. Trainer Drew Graham stated "any time you have a player like him with an injury to his dominant hand, you always worry about bringing him back too soon. We don't want to risk doing that and have [the hand] bothering him throughout the season. We'll see how the healing process goes." While Gay is sidelined, Sam Young, Tony Allen, and Xavier Henry will have ample opportunity to earn an expanded role on the team.

Thanks man, glad you like it. I'm going to start trying out some different things over the next few updates, so that's it's not just the same repetitive updates every time.

Trade talks heat up
__________________________________________________

Ramon Sessions | Cavaliers
__________________________________________________

Rumor has it that there are a number of teams courting new Cavaliers GM Ron Arens for trades involving backup point guard Ramon Sessions. With incumbent starter Mo Williams playing fairly well, Sessions has seen limited court time, however he has shown signs of great play-making ability on offense. From what we hear, the Knicks and Pistons have been two teams pursuing him the hardest.

Pistons reportedly shopping White
__________________________________________________

Terrico White | Pistons
__________________________________________________

Regarded as a rough project player with great athletic ability, White has the misfortune of being on a team loaded with veterans at his position. As such, his opportunity to develop on the court is capped to either less than 10 minutes per game or a demotion to the NBADL. The Pacers were reportedly dangling F Tyler Hansbrough initially, but many believe those talks have died after their recent acquisition of Donte Greene. The Lakers had also been tied to rumors regarding White but have since dismissed them.

Hill could be on the move
__________________________________________________

Jordan Hill | Rockets
__________________________________________________

A week after Brad Miller trade rumors began to surface in Houston, there are also murmurs that they might be looking to move another big man. In surprising news, young power forward Jordan Hill has been mentioned in rumors around the league. Many believe this is just to gauge interest and see what they can get in return, but according to Spurs GM RC Buford they're "asking too much."

Chauncey: 'Next season out of my hands'
__________________________________________________

Chauncey Billups | Nuggets
__________________________________________________

Denver's veteran point guard and a fan favorite, Chauncey Billups hopes to return to the Nuggets for the 2011-12 season. Unfortunately for him, that decision lies solely in the hands of the team's front office and whether or not they choose to exercise his team option. Billups told reporters, "they haven't talked to me about it at all." Many around the league believe that their decision hinges on whether or not they convince star Carmelo Anthony to stay as well. If he walks, they may decline to keep Billups in lieu of starting a youth movement.

Wolves looking to trade Telfair?
__________________________________________________

Sebastian Telfair | Timberwolves
__________________________________________________

With Luke Ridnour and Johnny Flynn already consuming a bulk of the playing time at the point guard position, there's very little room for Telfair in the Minnesota backcourt. They've been in contact with a number of teams and have reportedly struck up talks with the Knicks and Warriors. The Knicks deal is rumored to involve Bill Walker but the teams have still yet to come to an agreement. Golden State GM Larry Riley also thinks Telfair would be a solid veteran option to backup Steph Curry.

Williams wouldn't mind trade
__________________________________________________

Marvin Williams | Hawks
__________________________________________________

After being taken with the 2nd pick in the 2005 draft, Williams has largely failed to live up to his potential since entering the NBA. After spending most of his first 5 seasons as a 4th option, it's been rumored that he's interested in a fresh start somewhere else. Surprisingly, the Hawks have been willing to listen and, according to a source close to the situation, they have been drawing a lot of interest. It will be interesting to see if any team offers him a new start and if it has a similar effect to Michael Beasley's move to Minnesota.

Odom trying to remain upbeat
__________________________________________________

Lamar Odom | Lakers
__________________________________________________

Due to his size and flexibility of being able to play both small and power forward, players like Odom have always been a rare commodity in the NBA. Over the years there were always rumors swirling about other teams having interest in the 2-time NBA champion but the Lakers never appeared eager (or willing) to trade him. That appears to be the same this year, but that doesn't stop the rumors from materializing, the latest of which pegs Mike Conley as the Lakers' point guard of the future. Conley would be a nice asset for Los Angeles to have as Derek Fisher appears close to retirement, but at the expense of their X-factor? Not so sure about that.

Chandler: 'Still time for new deal'
__________________________________________________

Wilson Chandler | Knicks
__________________________________________________

New York brass have apparently been reaching out to the young swingman in order to get a new contract in place, however Chandler appears content with waiting it out and testing the free agent waters. This could very well be a result of the ongoing rumors that Carmelo Anthony could be coming to New York either this season or next summer. If the Knicks are able to court Anthony without losing Chandler, his playing time and potential will be drastically stifled. In that scenario, we expect he'd want to seek a bigger role with another team instead of taking a back seat.

Mills wants to stay in Portland
__________________________________________________

Patrick Mills | Trailblazers
__________________________________________________

Portland has supposedly been baiting backup point guard Patrick Mills to teams around the league, but unfortunately he doesn't appear to be garnering much interest. The only rumor that appears to hold any water so far has him going to Boston for a 2012 second round pick. Mills, however, prefers stay in Portland. "I have a home here, I've really come to like this place," says the Australia native. Considering the minimal interest in him so far, he just may be granted that wish.

Trade rumors swirling in Cleveland
__________________________________________________

J.J. Hickson | Cavaliers
__________________________________________________

After a somewhat disappointing first two seasons in the league, Cleveland had appeared willing to move their 2008 first rounder around the deadline last season. However, he has gotten off to an impressive start as a factor coming off the bench to start 2010 so to hear his name mentioned in rumors right now is a bit surprising. The Raptors are supposedly in hot pursuit and so far have offered Leandro Barbosa, although we expect it will take a lot more than that for the Cavaliers to part with the young power forward.
