Picked up this fantastic game once again after a long period of not playing it. Started a career legacy and I'd thought I'd share it with the fine people here at OS.

I'll be using coach mode for this legacy mostly because I've become too accustomed to NBA 2K11's controls and I found going back to CH2K8 a bit difficult. Also, I feel I know the ins and outs of the game so coach mode will remove the possibility that I will exploit the CPU. Plus, coach mode is fun.

I'd like to keep this updated on a regular basis but I can't promise anything. Anyway, feel free to comment and let me know what you think. Most importantly, I hope you enjoy.

Brooklyn, NY – After much searching and outside speculation, St. Francis college basketball has announced its new head coach to be Shawn Montgomery out of California. Montgomery replaces Brian Nash who resigned for personal reason after just two years at the helm. Montgomery, 29, has no prior college coaching experience but has enjoyed success during his short stint coaching at the high school level, winning two regional championships and becoming a well known figure amongst the coaching ranks out west. “This is a great opportunity for me and for St. Francis basketball, together I believe we can recapture the past success this team has enjoyed and become the team to beat in the Northeast Conference. The school and myself have high expectations and I will work hard with the support of excellent staff, talented players and passionate fans to get this team back to the top”.

Coach Montgomery Confident In Team

Brooklyn, NY - Prior to his first game, newly appointed head coach of the St. Francis Terriers, Shawn Montgomery, talked to the media about his sudden elevation into Division 1 college basketball and what his expectations and goals are for the upcoming season and beyond. “As far as expectations go, we have a good team and I think we can make some noise in the conference. We have great shooters and quick guards that will allow us to get out and run, which is always exciting for the fans. Obviously our post game isn't as strong as I'd like it to be but David (Burton) and Robert (Hines) are hard working guys so they may lack some height but they'll go out and give 100% each and every night.” Asked if his lack of college coaching experience will cause some issues, Montgomery responded “Well I've been playing and coaching basketball my whole life, so it's not as if I don't know what I'm doing or what is happening. The college level will be an extra step above the high school level but I'm prepared, I'm ready for this challenge and I've got two very experienced assistants that will help me with this transition.” Rounding out the press conference coach Montgomery answered questions on his own future “I'm just going to take it one step at a time and I've recently taken a pretty big one.” [Reporter shouts out if he'd like to coach in his home state of California] “(laughs) I'm sure it surprises no one that it would be a dream to coach back home, but that is not on the cards now and that's a discussion for another time. Right now I'm here at St. Francis and my focus is on getting this team to the top.”

St. Francis coach Shawn Montgomery kicked off his career with...a loss. Hartford was able to step up its game in the second half and the Terriers couldn't stay with the hot shooting from Joe Zeglinski who finished with 24 points in the win.
Second game and nobody expected St. Francis to win against St. John's and they didn't. The Terriers were once again completely outclassed in the second half after leading at the break. St John's won the rebound battle against the shorter Terrier forwards lead by Justin Burrell with 12 to go along with his 10 points.
The game against the Maine would mean one team would finally get their first win of the season. Coach Montgomery was the one left celebrating his first win at the final buzzer. Rocco Rubino scored 14 points off the bench to lead his team.
This win would mark a great run for the Terriers as they closed out the month with wins in their next three games: 24 points wasn't enough by Hofstra guard Antoine Aguido to slow down St. Francis' balanced attack; and balance was the name of the game again in the win against Manhattan. Rounding out the month, Sami Pekkola hit 6 threes in the second half and Jamaal Womack recorded a double-double as the Terriers scored their fourth straight win of the season against Fairfield.

Recruiting
The start of December meant the early signing period opened up and St. Francis were able to get one recruit to commit for next season. Denny Appleby, a 3* 6'10” center will join the Terriers and provide them with some much needed height and inside presence. St. Francis is also reported to be going after another center along with some wing players.

December

St. Francis looked to extend their winning streak to five games and win their first conference game against Quinnipiac to kick off December. A high scoring game ensued with the Terriers catching fire (more than they already were) at the right time to grab a ten point lead with a few minutes left and hold on for the win. Coach Montgomery had this to say after the game: “We're starting to find our rhythm and everyone has a clear role now. Tonight we ran and shot the three well and that got us the win.”
St. Francis then put their 5 game winning streak on the line against rival Wagner but the Seahawk starters all scored in double digits to snap the Terriers' streak and win their first conference game of the season.
The Terriers finished off their non-conference schedule with 3 wins from 4 games, predictably losing to South Florida. But wins over Columbia, Navy and a slaughter at Albany gives them good momentum going into the bulk of conference play.

Note: Rocco Rubino was injured in the previous game against Navy, he suffered a pulled groin and won't be 100% for 16 days. He may still see time on the court though.
St. Francis started the new year with a loss to Mount St. Mary's. After a decent first half the Terriers looked lost on the floor and the Mountaineers had their way en route to a 12 point win.
SFNY would turn it around in a big way, going on a 6 game winning streak that boosted their confidence and launched them to second in the NEC standings. Central Connecticut stood no chance from the word go as they were blown out before half time. Jamaal Womack the high point man in the game with 17. Rival Long Island welcomed the Terriers and were matching them all the way through the game so much that the game was sent into overtime thanks to a buzzer beater from Tyrone Mattison. That was where the Blackbirds collapsed, being outscored by 10 points in OT and looking dejected as they walked off the court without the W.
St. Francis went on a tear in the first halves of the next three games, scoring 49 points in the first half in the win against Fairleigh Dickinson, 52 in the first half against Quinnipiac and 51 in the route of Monmouth. The Terriers got their sixth win of the month in a close one to Saint Francis (PA). Traveling to Robert Morris would spell the end of the winning streak, falling to Robert Morris and then losing after a dismal performance to Mount St. Mary's again.

St. Francis looked to slow down Sacred Heart to begin February who had won five of their last six games but from the tip it never looked that way. The Pioneers crushed the Terriers in the first half on their way to an easy victory. Drew Shubik (SHU) was the source of St. Francis' troubles, finishing with 25 points.
St. Francis traveled to Central Connecticut and once again got the win over the Blue Devils. Otis Campbell was too much for the home side with a career high 23 points in the win. Campbell, for the second game in a row, was the go-to man for SFNY, leading the way with 18 points in another close win over Saint Francis (PA). The Terriers welcomed Robert Morris and lost in a thrilling final few minutes. St. Francis unable to complete a comeback after trailing by 12 at half time despite 16 and 15 from Jamaal Womack and Marcus Williams respectively.
Taking on Sacred Heart again didn't provide any better of a result as the game was well over by half time. Sacred Heart leading by 16 at that point and had four players scoring in double digits.
SFNY, after playing two of the hottest teams in the conference got some relief in their last two games of the season, playing at home against Fairleigh Dickinson and Long Island. SFNY cruised to the win over the Knights behind Ricky Cadell's 13 points and David Burton's 19 points and 9 rebounds.
Senior Night against rival Long Island provided another exciting game. St. Francis were very sloppy in the first half only scoring 19 points but turned it around midway through the second, going on a 16-0 run to give themselves a commanding lead and sending the crowd into a frenzy with every made basket. The Terriers outscoring their opponent 40-23 in the second half to grab the win.
Note: Robert Hines was injured in the final game against Long Island, he suffered a sprained ankle but will be fine for the NEC tournament.
