Nuggets Great Alex English Looks to Lead Denver in a New Direction

Denver, Colorado - Hall of Famer, and Nugget's legend, Alex English has taken up a general manager position at Denver. After working as an assistant coach for the Toronto Raptors, English accepted a higher position at his old team. English is noted as being a top scorer of the 1980's, holding the scoring record for the Nuggets with 25,613 points. His jersey number, 2, is currently retired by the Nuggets.

The Nuggets are currently in a rebuilding phase, after trading away to great players in Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups. From the trade, Denver earned talented young players. Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, and Danilo Gallinari were apart of the major deal. General Manger English has made a few comments regarding the status of the team. "I intend to keep our younger talent around, but I will be focusing on a few of the team's weaknesses. Free agent signing and some trades are going to happen."

Lawson Sets Franchise Record in Steals, Nuggets defeat Jazz 100-95

Denver, Colorado - In a division rivalry game, the Nuggets narrowly defeated the Utah Jazz. To many fans, this was seen as payback for the Jazz eliminating the Nuggets early in the playoffs last year. Although Utah has the lead in the rivalry, Denver is looking to become the better of the two teams. Both teams are also looking to rebuild after major transactions took some of their top players. This match-up was not of Melo and Boozer, but of Lawson and Bell. Not as big of a draw, but Ty Lawson showed that he was good as he led the Nuggets to victory.

With 36 points, Lawson set a career high and led all scores. Lawson also managed a double-double getting 11 steals, a franchise record, most of which came in the fourth quarter. A triple-double was almost accomplished, but Lawson fell short with 8 assist. Still, Lawson was not the only reason that the Jazz lost. Turnovers became a habit for the players, as they turned the ball over 12 times in the fourth quarter. Before the fourth quarter, Utah managed to keep their turnovers down to 11. In the end, Utah turned the ball over 23 times.

Denver will be traveling to New Orleans to take on Chris Paul and the Hornets on Friday, October 29th.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of the Throwback jerseys. Used them due to English being the GM. Nuggets have a very good roster. Lots of three point shooters, which suits my play style.

nice start on the franchise. ty lawson has got some great upside. watched him in his ncaa tournament run with the the tarheels.really thought he'd become a v good nba player. would like to see him become an nba star in this franchise.
