The Orange and Blue! New York Knicks [nba2k12 - Coach Mode]

With Carmelo Anthony being injured for most of the year and just returning to the lineup.. I was hoping that my Knicks would not forget all the lessons they've learned during his absence. To play as a team!

Instead, I watched my Knicks play with absolutely no ball movement whatsoever for its first 3 possessions which lead to the ball in Carmelo's hands with 5 seconds left and him taking a jumpshot trying to bail them out. I immediately called a timeout and tried to settle my team down as the Bulls rushed off to an 8-0 lead.

Eventually, my team found its stride and once again, we've won a game we weren't supposed to.. 4 in a row? After starting this season 0-3 and me thinking of a top 5 pick in the draft, to be surging into the playoffs is something I never even imagined

The Philadelphia 76ers is much a mirror image of my team.. bottom dwellers to have come together and now lead the East with the best record.. I welcome this challenge and now want to see if my Knicks have really put it together

It always amazes me the way a story unfolds during the season.. both my Knicks and 76ers were bottom dwellers.. my Knicks specially having started 0-3, losing Carmelo for most of the year, I really was eyeing a top 5 lottery pick but my team came together and made a season out of what was to me, a hopeless situation.. and now, the 76ers are sitting at the top with the East's best record.

This was a great game and both teams came to play with my Andre Igoudala missing the game-tying FG, my Knicks secured yet another 2 point victory in spite of Philadelphia winning every statistical category

With the victory over the 76ers, the Knicks secured a playoff spot and was welcoming the "lowly" Toronto Raptors as a coach, it was a nice change to have a lead wire to wire and play relaxed.. we didn't really have any trouble with the Raptors and it was a positive way to end the season and head into the playoffs once again

Ahh, the playoffs! The 2nd season! The REAL season! THE PLAYOFFS!! You know what they say.. just get in the dance baby, that's almost always the #1 priority entering the season.

Early this year, the playoffs was something unthinkable.. started off 0-3, disgusted that I traded away Chauncey "Big Shot" Billups and handed the keys to running my team to an unproven PG whom I thought was ready and losing Carmelo for 8 weeks the majority of the season.. I was fully thinking of the nba draft. Top 5 pick? Yes please!

But along the way something changed.. my team came together, and although I still wasn't happy with the way my point guard is playing taking far too many shots.. we won, and kept winning, and turned this season around.

Last time I faced Chicago perhaps they underestimated us and we beat them by 11 points I believe.. this time.. they took the lead at home and nailed their last seconds free throws securing their 2 point game 1 victory in spite of Carmelo Anthony dropping 36 points on them.

If game 1 was a reminder that my Knicks can play with the Bulls.. Game 2 was the Bulls reminding us that we were in their backyard and if things go bad.. they really go bad! The Bulls won every single statistical category as well as winning easily by 12 points.

Carmelo, Amar'e, Toney, Landry, nobody on the Knicks had a good game and we are now in a dangeorus 0-2 hole.. that pretty much sums it up.

Game 3 .. must win. Period.

He's heard it from week 1.. I'm unhappy with him. I'm unhappy with the way he plays the point and wished heavily that I never traded away Chauncey Billups and made him my starting PG... but for Game 3.. a must-win for my Knicks down 0-2 in the 1st round of the playoffs... I was most certainly glad he was on my team!

My stars struggled and I was certain we would've lost but he stepped it up!

PG Toney Douglas under fire from me all season long for taking too many shots instead of running the offense and getting the ball to Amar'e and Carmelo, earned Player of the Game honors and led the Knicks to a Game 3 victory as the Knicks avert certain elimination had they gone 0-3!

Now it's a series! My Knicks were down most of the game and it looked like we were going to be down 3 games to 1 but we made a run entering the 4th qtr and finished the game off with a 7 point win!
