Re: [2K7] Coaching Legacy of Jonathan Tshiony
Recruiting October 23rd
Overview: Our main priority this year is to get a center and we have one scholarship to achieve this. Jameer McFarland, a high school Center out of Little Rock, Arizona stood at 6 foot 8 inches and weighted in 210 pounds. What stopped us from recruiting him? The fact that he has a 1 start rating and quite frankly, we needed talent in this team. Instead we went to the best 2 star Center that was into us, Chaz O'Connor, 6 foot 9 inches, 228 pounds, a high school senior out of Houston, Texas, a regional player which meant we had to put some extra energy into recruiting him. We also went for the Junior College Sophmore Point Guard from Houston, Texas as well, Roland Ray, 6 foot 3 inches and 204 pounds along with being a 2 star which meant he'd be a great asset if Chaz didn't come to us. Finally we got a head start on next season with Solomon Salow, a 6 foot 7 inch, 216 pound high school junior out of Laredo, Texas, we know he's a national player and only one star but we're hoping he'll develop next season.
Chaz O'Connor: I went over some O'Connor tapes myself and came to judge his rebounding abilities as a B-, solid, very solid and definitely can develop with time. I also specifically went over to Houston to bring his leaping ability to a B- along with his Quickness, so far he's turning out to be a great asset. His main priority was what brought our mood down a bit, he wants to stay home. We know Texas is in another region and a few other schools in that state are recruiting him but we're hoping he comes over here. He'd definitely get a starting spot if he did.
Roland Ray: I also took a look at Roland Ray's game, his offense came at a disappointing C- but we're still studying him. While I was in Houston I went over to visit Roland as well to see how he fit with our program. His rebounding is a decent C- but his intelligence is a mere C-, he's starting to slowly become a disappointment, along with the fact that he wants playing time as his main priority. Unfortunately, unless he proves to be better than Owens, and Simms who's being red-shirted, that might not be possible. I'll probably check him out for a few more weeks but if he continues being such a disappointment, we'll look for a different back-up plan if O'Connor doesn't work out.
Solomon Salow: Salow sent us his game tapes and I came to the conclusion that he has a C rebounding grade. I had the other assistants email him much like they did the other two recruits.
