[2K7] Coaching Legacy of Jonathan Tshiony

Jumping of the NBA train and hoping onto the College Hoops train, 2K8 wasn't available so I took the next best thing, 2K7. I'm doing a coaching career legacy and starting off with the worst possible team in the game, Grambling State at 58 overall. My primary goal is really to win an NCAA Championship rather it be with Grambling State (lol) or any other team. What I do after that may differ. This will be a detailed diary of Coach Tshiony's career in the NCAA and how it develops. By the time I started this, I had already finished the March Madness game and was half-way through the H1 of the first game.

As you can see, the roster is rather terrible. We only have one guy leaving next season although that one guy is our second best player. We're definitely going to be using that Scholarship on getting a center. On the matter of centers, our two centers are horrible, and while they have time to develop, my scouts don't believe they have the skills to develop appropriately and with the lack of size, it's obvious we need a new center in this team quick time. While our top 4 players of the moment are leaving within the next two years, we have a good crop of freshman eager to develop into good players, Owens being my favorite of them all. We were originally 16 players but a shooting guard was cut off unfortunately. Choosing our redshirt player was a matter of potential, I was tempted to send Owens and let him come back next season but instead went with our only good point guard Pierre Simms leaving Owens to take his spot as the starting point guard. Jim Bowers also left and while he's a talented small forward, he had no place in a team filled with small forwards. Finally, another man who lacked a place in the team was Andre' Hendry so he was redshirted as well. Next up is our first game of the season.

Re: [2K7] Coaching Legacy of Jonathan Tshiony

The Coaching Staff:

Jonathan Tshionyi announced the coaching staff for the Grambling State Tigers this this year. Firstly we have Dramaine Urbina, aged 35 years old, that's 10 years older than the head coach Jonathan. His job security at the moment isn't as high as he would like. Overall he was one of the best available at the time. His offence is slightly below average with a slightly better defense than Jonathan, his teaching skills match that of Jonathan however his charisma, discipline and scouting abilities are all below par, especially his charisma which means he won't ever be sent to talk with someone else. Thankfully, Jonathan's greatest abilities are his scouting and charisma. Fortunately, he's extremely ambitious, continually looking to improve his position and abilities, he better know he's not getting Jonathan's position though. Ka'Ron Potter is the other assistant coach and while he wasn't the cream of the crop, he satisfied the teams needs. He's mediocre at imparting offensive knowledge to his players and has limited understanding of defence which makes him useless on that side of the fence. Ka'Ron will mainly aid with offence while Dramaine will help on defence. As a teacher this coach still has a lot to learn about college basketball. He unfortunately lacks the ability to influence a recruit's scholarship decisions. Generally when scouting opponents he's either a complete miss or a hit. He's unable to catch the attention of his players with a below average discipline ability. Much like Dramaine, he's ambitious and that's one of the reasons he was signed to the team.

Jonathan Tshionyi (C), Charisma B-
Dramaine Urbina (C), Defence C+
Ka'Ron Potter (C-), Offence B-

Re: [2K7] Coaching Legacy of Jonathan Tshiony

Recruiting October 23rd

Overview: Our main priority this year is to get a center and we have one scholarship to achieve this. Jameer McFarland, a high school Center out of Little Rock, Arizona stood at 6 foot 8 inches and weighted in 210 pounds. What stopped us from recruiting him? The fact that he has a 1 start rating and quite frankly, we needed talent in this team. Instead we went to the best 2 star Center that was into us, Chaz O'Connor, 6 foot 9 inches, 228 pounds, a high school senior out of Houston, Texas, a regional player which meant we had to put some extra energy into recruiting him. We also went for the Junior College Sophmore Point Guard from Houston, Texas as well, Roland Ray, 6 foot 3 inches and 204 pounds along with being a 2 star which meant he'd be a great asset if Chaz didn't come to us. Finally we got a head start on next season with Solomon Salow, a 6 foot 7 inch, 216 pound high school junior out of Laredo, Texas, we know he's a national player and only one star but we're hoping he'll develop next season.

Chaz O'Connor: I went over some O'Connor tapes myself and came to judge his rebounding abilities as a B-, solid, very solid and definitely can develop with time. I also specifically went over to Houston to bring his leaping ability to a B- along with his Quickness, so far he's turning out to be a great asset. His main priority was what brought our mood down a bit, he wants to stay home. We know Texas is in another region and a few other schools in that state are recruiting him but we're hoping he comes over here. He'd definitely get a starting spot if he did.

Roland Ray: I also took a look at Roland Ray's game, his offense came at a disappointing C- but we're still studying him. While I was in Houston I went over to visit Roland as well to see how he fit with our program. His rebounding is a decent C- but his intelligence is a mere C-, he's starting to slowly become a disappointment, along with the fact that he wants playing time as his main priority. Unfortunately, unless he proves to be better than Owens, and Simms who's being red-shirted, that might not be possible. I'll probably check him out for a few more weeks but if he continues being such a disappointment, we'll look for a different back-up plan if O'Connor doesn't work out.

Solomon Salow: Salow sent us his game tapes and I came to the conclusion that he has a C rebounding grade. I had the other assistants email him much like they did the other two recruits.
