NEVIL BOBIK COMMITS, BRINGS EXCITEMENT BACK TO RIVERSIDE
Nine 3-star recruits sign up led by Ross Crites of Cal State Northridge
Apr 15, Riverside CA - Two weeks of intense recruiting finally paid off for Coach
Raymond Rose and UC Riverside as 6’11 forward
Nevil Bobik committed to wear the Highlanders jersey next season. Initially Rose was looking at a point guard but changed plans after the Highlanders failed to make the Tournament Finals. Rose wanted to go big next season as has been their past Conference Championships and bring the glory back to Riverside.
Earlier Rose signed in 2-star
Shaddean Burnett, a 6’9 forward from Anaheim and was aiming at
Brendon Terry, a 6’1 point guard from Modesto. He found instead an unsigned 3-star recruit from Visalla who is big and with considerable potentials. Bobik, one of the nine 3-star recruits in the Big West, will be a good contender and may battle it out with
Orlando Rodgers for a starting spot next season.
Conference champion Cal State Northridge has the highest ranked recruit in
Ross Crites, a 6’4 strong forward from Compton. A second 3-star recruit is
Donte’ Atchinson, a 6’1 shooting guard from Garden Grove.
Tournament champion Cal State Fullerton has the most number of 3-star recruits with three led by guards, 6’5
Rashad Singleton from Compton and 6’3
Dez Cannizzario from Lancaster. The 3rd is unranked
Art Palacios, a 6’7 rebounding forward from Pasadena.
Cal Poly with an almost intact lineup next season received the commitment of 3-point artist
T.J. Blankson, a 6’3 shooting guard from Moreno Valley. High on the ranking list is Long Beach State’s 6’2 shooting guard
David Guinn from Lake Forest, who will somehow find his way to a starting role next season with all five starters gone. Last but not the least is UC Irvine’s
Pierre Barlow, a 6’6 strong forward from Inglewood.
