Hold That Tiger: An LSU Basketball Dynasty
NCAA Basketball '10: The 2009-2010 Season

After a successful 2008-2009 season that saw the LSU Tigers Men's Basketball Team capture the SEC Regular Season Championship and a trip that saw the Tigers make it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, the Tigers are looking to make even more noise this season. They certainly have a tough road ahead once SEC play arrives but Coach Trent Johnson has given LSU a little bit of an easier off-season test this season. Coach Johnson says that this year with the very young team he has on his hands he is looking to build depth and experience. He says he didn't want to throw his team into the gauntlet this season against tough and experienced teams. However, Coach Johnson has stated that the Tigers will not have an easy schedule next season.

Coach Johnson, in his first season at LSU last year, was able to guide a very talented LSU team to heights that were perhaps unexpected. However it won't be easy for Johnson's Tigers this year as they are going to have to face some young up and coming talented teams in the SEC such as Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Florida, and many many more.

Tigers Roll Over Retrievers in NIT Season Opener

Storrs, CT - The LSU Tigers Men's Basketball team has started off their 2009 season in the right way with a big 86 to 68 victory over the University of Maryland - Baltimore County Retrievers. The Tigers were helped in large part thanks to point guard Bo Spencer but mainly by Senior Power Forward Tasmin Mitchell whom had 19 points and 6 rebounds plus 3 big blocks to guide his team to victory.

The Tigers will next play the University of Nevada Wolfpack in the second round of the NIT Season Tip Off Tournament tomorrow night.
