Bozeman, MT- Today the Montana St Bobcats made a surprising move by going into Columbia, S.C. and taking one of coach Brian Cupp's top assistants. Rocky Cage played 4 years under Coach Cupp at the University of Nevada, where he left with a 15.8 career scoring avg and 5 school records including career points scored (1975) fg % (.60) Free throws made (463) and Field goals (749) his 5th record was single season fg % (.63). A 6th, most dunks in a career is likely though not confirmed. Cage had hopes of an NBA career but a bad traffic accident injuring both knees ruined his NBA dream. Instead he traveled to Columbia with is old Coach and spent one season there, he quickly established himself as a top notch recruiter and Montana St. took notice and brought him in. he signed a 2 year deal worth just over 115k a year.

Montana st gave Coach Cage a fantastic effort to start the season this afternoon. the Bobcats jumped out to a 37-24 halftime lead due in large part to 7-9 shooting from behind the arc in the first half and only 1 turnover.

the Bobcats were led by senior Branden Johnson who netted 15 points and 4 rebounds on the night. 2 others were in double figures Navarre 12 and Piepoli 12

State had a big week ahead coming up vs Savannah st on tuesday then albany on friday.

Coach Cage also has several young recruits visiting Campus this weekend:

Clinton Wilmont a 6'3 guard and also Idaho's Mr Basketball this season along with Owen Montague also 6'3 and a guard and also the Mr Basketball in the state of Montana. Both are 3* prospects
