BOSTON - Jrue Holiday and the Philadelphia 76ers handed the Celtics an opening day loss by outscoring them 23-14 in the fourth quarter and 65-62 in the game. With the game 63-60 with a few seconds remaining, Paul Pierce hit a mid-range jumper to put the game at 63-62. Iguodala, however, hit both his free-throws after an intentional foul and Pierce couldn't hit the game-tying 3-pointer to force overtime. Jermaine O'Neal was limited to only 8 minutes in the game due to a strained hamstring; he will be out for 2-4 weeks.

Jrue Holiday had 22 points in the 76ers' win over the Celtics.

NEW YORK - The Boston Celtics lost their second straight to open up their season at 0-2. The Knicks were able to come back multiple times from double-digit deficits, ultimately taking the lead in the final two minutes. For the second straight game the Celtics were outscored in the 4th quarter, raising questions about the team's ability to not only play a full game, but whether they will be able to physically keep up with other teams due to their age.

Rondo and Davis battled all night, but Davis got the better of the matchup.

BOSTON - Rajon Rondo teamed up with Kevin Garnett to will their team to their first victory of the season. There was a familiar feeling at half-time, as the Trailblazers came back from being down 32-20 after the 1st quarter, to 54-51 at the half. Boston, however, had a great 3rd quarter and a decent 4th quarter to pull off the victory. Boston still has not managed to outscore their opponents in the 4th quarter in any game this season.

The "Big 4" combined for 81 points, as well as a much needed emotional lift from KG.

BOSTON - Despite missing more shots than they would like, the Celtics still managed 95 points in the win over the Bobcats due to their ability to get to the free-throw line. Kemba Walker was in foul trouble early, forcing him to sit out much of the game. The Celtics didn't shoot well, besides Paul Pierce; they did, however, play good defense and held the Bobcats to 85 points and finally outscoring their opponents in the 4th quarter, and three out of the four quarters total.

The Celtics got to the line often throughout the game.

WASHINGTON - Feeling good after two straight victories, the Celtics lost handily due to poor defense on the road against the Wizards. Rajon Rondo fouled out early in the 4th quarter but the game was out of reach for the Celtics even before that. Nick Young's 38 points were killer, most of them coming from his 7/11 three-point shooting. Despite the fact that basketball is a team game, Allen looks to be the main culprit to blame in the loss: his failure to guard Nick Young as well as his dismal 8/26 shooting. The Celtics are once again under .500 and travel to San Antonio for their second game of a three-game road trip.

The Celtics allowed the Wizards to shoot 51% from the field.

BOSTON - After an embarrassing loss to the Wizards the Boston Celtics returned home for a game against the San Antonio Spurs. The Celtics got off to a hot start and didn't look back, leading the entire game. Boston's starters were able to rest most of the game and the bench performed well. The Spurs shot just 42% for the game and only made 57% of their free-throws (11-19). Boston welcomes Oklahoma City in their next game on Monday night.
