Turnovers and key missed shots killed the Knicks last night in San Antonio. Center Greg Monroe played the best out of anyone on the team. The Spurs could not stop him when he go down low. That freed up Josh Smith to make some plays on his own but in the end it was the struggle to make shots from 18 feet and out. Combined with 15 turnovers the Knicks shot themselves in the foot.

The play of San Antonio's wings won the game for the Spurs. SG Eric Gordon shot 50% and scored 20 points while SF Terrence Williams went off for 23 points on 66% shooting. "We let them get the shots they wanted. We needed to play tougher defense later in the game and that didn't happen" Asst. Coach Herb Williams said. San Antonio is one of the best teams so far in the west and New York held strong against them. Controlling the turnovers and taking care of the ball is the number one focus going into the Houston game. "I need to limit my turnovers" PG Steph Curry claimed.

The Knicks finish off their four game road trip with a back to back in Houston and then Dallas. They have 2 weeks off then to finish the month.

The Knicks had a two man game going in Houston. When the Rockets doubled Monroe down low, He would kick out to Steph Curry who would drain the three. Curry also did a good job kicking out to Wilson Chandler who went five for five behind the arch. The Knicks let Tony Parker score but limited him to only two assists. "We did a good job at only letting him score and not letting him get his teammates easy baskets" Coach D'Antoni said.

Former Knick Landry Fields scored 23 but it was on his own. He took a lot of lone jumpers. The Rockets got the score within three late but the Knicks were up 10 with a minute and had the game in control. Josh Smith added 14 points tonight with six rebounds. The bench was basically a no show outside of Trevor Booker who scored all eight of the bench's points.

New York takes on Dallas to finish up the road trip tomorrow. The bench will need to play good since the starters will most likely be tired since they played a ton of minutes. Here is the preview

The Knicks fell short in Dallas due to poor rebounding. This is starting to become a glaring weakness for this team. Kris Humphries had 17 rebounds to lead the Mavs. Danny Granger and Vince Carter went off for 20 points each leading the Mavs. At one point the Knicks were down 20, but Steph Curry's hot hand brought them back. They started to make a comeback in the fourth and got the deficit cut to four but it was too little too late.

"We need to rebound better, we out played them other than rebounding" Coach D'Antoni said. "We have 11 days off, we will address the situation" he added.

The Knicks have 11 days off and face Memphis on December 1st, the next update is going to be the end of the month update and the Memphis preview.

Breaking News…
The New York Knicks have traded SF Jared Dudley to the Toronto Raptors for SF Tony Allen. Reports were Dudley wasn't happy with his role on the team. Dudley, nor his agent could be reached for comment. "We dealt with an internal situation by dealing a player who wasn't pleased to be here. We welcome Tony (Allen) to the Knick family." GM Glen Grunwald. "I'm happy to be here. New York is the big time, I hope I can help bring a title here" Tony Allen added. "Generally you don't trade within your division, but Tony was the guy we wanted. Plus with the new rules we only play them twice" Grunwald said.

Allen will suit up versus the Grizzlies tomorrow night. He will come off the bench with the second unit. Allen adds tough defense and the ability to shut down the other team's best player on defense. On offense he has a decent three point shot but makes a living getting to the hole.

The Knicks scraped by in their first game in 11 days and it took extra time to do it. Once again they got out rebounded by 13 rebounds. But the hot shooting by Courtney Lee and Eric Maynor led the Knicks to the victory. PG Stephen Curry struggled once again, he fouled out in OT leading Maynor to come in and he a key three pointer to win. Even though he didn't box out well Josh Smith also contributed 24 points, nine of the points came from behind the arc. He also had four steals and two blocks. Greg Monroe got 18 tough points down low and he grabbed a team high 11 rebounds. Newcomer Tony Allen struggled on offense, he looked like he was forcing shots. He did play some solid defense though.

The Grizzlies were led by veteran G Chauncey Billups who poured in a game high 33 points. Both Al Jefferson and Chris Kaman posted double doubles. Jefferson had 14 points and 15 boards while Kaman dropped 23 points and scooped 18 rebounds. The Knicks were down 14 at the beginning of the fourth quarter but they forced overtime. They had a 24 second violation with 4.3 seconds left when Curry threw an arrant pass to Lee in the corner. Jefferson missed an 18 footer at the buzzer. In OT Curry fouled out quickly. Smith, Lee and Maynor all led the team in the extra time. Eric Maynor hit a three pointer with 20 seconds left that pushed the game to six points and neither team scored the rest of the way. The Knicks host the Magic on Saturday, below is the preview.

The Knicks won in dominating fashion on Saturday night. They played their best defense of the year, holding the Magic to 40% shooting on the night. The forced Chris Paul and Jason Terry into bad shots, they went a combined 15-46 on the night. Better yet the Knicks set the tone on defense by blocking 11 shots and not giving up many easy shots. "We flew around out there, everybody rotated beautifully tonight" Josh Smith said. Smith had three blocks of his own. One where he chased down Paul on the fast break and blocked his layup attempt. The Garden went nuts. "It was a great play, I just chased him down and turned my body so I didn't foul and so I could keep the ball in bounds off the block" Smith commented.

Not only did the defense lead the way but the play of center Greg Monroe again was outstanding. He kept opposing center Anderson Varejao in foul trouble all night. Varejao fouled Monroe twice early in the first and then in the second quarter :30 seconds after he got in and could Monroe again for the and one. In the third quarter's first minute Varejao once again fouled Monroe on his way to the hoop. D'Antoni played the bench the entire fourth quarter since the Knicks were up 21 going into it. "It was good experience for those guys. They really are starting to gel" Coach D'Antoni said.

Next up the Knicks travel to Memphis for a three game road trip in a four night span. They play Memphis on 12/7, NOLA on 12/8 and then in DC for a matchup with the Wizards on 12/10. The preview for the Grizzlies game is below.

The Grizzlies didn't stand a chance in the rematch. New York set a season high for points in a quarter with 37 in the first and then almost tied it with 36 in the third. Greg Monroe has continued his stellar play with 21 points and seven rebounds. The Knicks really attacked the rim against Memphis netting them 18 free throw attempts.Stephen Curry finally found himself out of his slump scoring 18 points and dishing out 11 assists. On top of that he had five steals and four rebounds. Courtney Lee had his best game of the season shooting 8-10 with 20 points and grabbing five steals as well. Even though Josh Smith didn't have a huge statistical game he altered a lot of shots and anchored the team on defense.

"This is the kind of ball, I know we can play" Curry said. "We came together as a team today, this was a group win" Curry added. "I'm proud of the guys, they let their defense lead to many points on offense" Coach D'Antoni said. "We gave them fits every time up the court and we didn't let them get any easy shots" D"Antoni closed with.

It certainly was a dominating win. The Knicks took an early lead and never looked back. Again Coach Mike D'Antoni played his bench the entire fourth quarter. The Knicks will face the Hornets tomorrow night in New Orleans, where they face former Knick Carmelo Anthony.

Game Notes
The Hornets bring Allen Iverson, Mike Miller, Josh Howard, Chuck Hayes and Kevin Seraphin off the bench

Keys to a Knicks Win...
1. Control the Paint- On both sides of the ball. NOLA has a great front court. The Knicks need to control the paint on offense and defense.
2. Corral Jason Kidd- Curry needs to tired him out by running him up and down the court and harrassing him while the Hornets have the ball.
3. Big game from the others- Courtney Lee and the bench need to have big games for the Knicks to win.

The Knicks were carried by Greg Monroe and Stephen Curry against New Orleans Thursday. They scored two thirds of the the team's points. Spencer Hawes couldn't stop Monroe and when the Knicks couldn't find any offense they went back to Monroe to keep the lead. Steph Curry may have had the better game though. After scoring 29 points he grabbed five rebounds and dished out six assists

For New Orleans Jason Kidd went off for 31 points and Melo dropped 21 in for the Hornets. "We never want to give up that many to one guy, but we were glad it was him and not Melo" Coach D'Antoni said. The Knicks played good overall team defense, again forcing the Hornets into bad shots and nothing easy.

With the win over the Hornets the Knicks have won four straight and with their 9-3 record are first in the East. On Saturday the Knicks face the Wizards in Washington to end their three game road trip.

Game Notes
The Wizards bring Andre Miller, Alec Burks, Matt Barnes, Anthony Randolph and Jeff Foster off the bench.

Key to a Knicks Win...
1. Give it to Greg- Monroe is killing it this year. He's eaten up better centers than Splitter.

2. Lockdown Ellis and Pierce- Both guys are capable of going off and will if given the opportunity

3. Josh Smith- Smith needs to get it going tonight. He needs to score points on top of everything else.
