Re: Charlotte Bobcats 30-Team Control Association

WALKER COMES UP CLUTCH FOR CHARLOTTE

Kemba Walker shoots the game winning three pointer over Antwan Jamison

CHARLOTTE - The Charlotte Bobcats defeated the Cleveland Cavilers 95-92 in a game that came right down to the wire. Charlotte was up 92-90 with 16.6 seconds left, but Anderson Varejao went to the free throw line and knocked down both of his shots to tie the game at 92. Going against conventional wisdom, Coach Paul Silas elected to not call a time out and let his young team run their offense. Kemba Walker came off of a screen and received a perfect pass from D.J. White in the left corner and nailed a three with 4.5 seconds left to give Charlotte the lead. Cleveland had one more chance to score but a Daniel Gibson three came up short.

Walker led all scorers with 23 points and also had 7 assist for Charlotte. The Bobcat’s power forwards played a solid game as Tyrus Thomas scored 15 with 6 boards and D.J. White scored 14. Throughout the game Charlotte played inconsistently but was able to perform best when it mattered most. Number one overall pick Kyrie Irving battled fouls all game and only played 17 minutes but his backup, Daniel Gibson, picked up the slack and led Cleveland with 22 points. Where the Cavs really dominated was on the glass. They had 3 players in double figure rebound totals and outrebounded the Bobcats as a team by 11. Despite that, Charlotte was able to hold on thanks in part to the great job they did forcing turnovers.

(see game winning shot here: http://www.nba2k.com/nba/profile/0/337904 video title: Walker3)
