Bobcats Update - Febuary 5, 2012
Charlotte began a 5 game western road trip when they took on the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday. Kobe Bryant scored 38 and was too much for the Bobcats, as Los Angeles won 116-89. For Charlotte Kemba Walker led the team with 20 points while D.J. Augustin was one assist away from a double-double with 10 points and 9 assist.

Tuesday, the Bobcats travelled up to Portland to face the Trailblazers. LaMarcus Aldridge dominated scoring 30 with 11 rebounds leading Portland to a 120-108 victory. Former Bobcats Raymond Felton and Gerald Wallace had solid games as Felton scored 23 with 12 assist and Wallace scored 13 with 7 rebounds. Kemba Walker again led the charge for Charlotte scoring a career high 26 to go with 7 assist.

On Saturday, Charlotte travelled down to Phoenix to play the Suns. The 38 year old Steve Nash continues to play well as he scored 12 and picked up 15 assist. However, that was not enough for the Suns as D.J. Augustin scored 27 and led the Bobcats to a 110-87 win. Gerald Henderson scored 20 for Charlotte while Kemba Walker picked up 8 assist.

Next week, the Bobcats play Utah and Denver before coming home to play the Clippers and the Magic.

INJURY REPORT
Bobcats C Byron Mullens is still limited by theinjury he suffered a week ago and is not expected back until Charlotte returns home to face the Clippers.

NBA Rumor Mill - Updated: Feb 12, 2012
Marion on the Move?DALWizards Want Blatche Out?WAS
RUMOR - The Dallas Mavericks have been preparing for the last year to make a run at free agents Dwight Howard and Deron Williams in the summer of 2012. However, for that to happen they need to clear out cap space. They can use the amnesty clause on Brendan Haywood, but that still leaves Shawn Marion taking up about $8M of cap space. If Marion is not traded this week, it will be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to land both Howard and Williams. As long as the Magic don't trade Howard, Dallas will likely do everything they can to ship out Marion.RUMOR - It is clear when you look at the Wizards that they have talent. The problem is they are all young, most are immature, and sometimes struggle to play as a team. One of those players, Andray Blatche seems to have worn out his welcome in Washington. Blatche has a ton of talent, but is immature and sometimes lazy. The Wizards are open to moving him if the right deal presents itself. It seems that Blatche would fit best with a team who has a solid core of veterans where Blatche could come of the bench and learn from his teammates. It will be interesting to see if the Wizards make a move.
What Will Phoenix Do?PHXClippers Looking for Help?LAC
RUMOR - Ever since Amare Stoudemire left for the Knicks, people have wondered if the Suns would trade Steve Nash. At 38, Nash is still one of the league’s best point guards but is stuck on a mediocre Phoenix team. While the Suns would like to keep Nash, it is clear that this current group is not a championship contender. It appears that the best course of action would be to trade Nash in an attempt to gain some draft picks and young talent. Despite that, the Suns remain hesitant to make a move, but could if they got a good offer.RUMOR - When the Clippers made a trade for Chris Paul and signed Chauncey Billups this offseason, they created a log jam at PG. They have four solid PGs and could look to move one of them at the deadline in an effort to pick up some depth at another position. Eric Bledsoe would appear to be the most likely choice. Bledsoe has yet to see significant action but is young and has shown some potential. If Los Angeles could get a solid veteran for Bledsoe they could look to make a move.

The All-Star Game Rosters will be anounced Thursday, Febuary 16.

Bobcats Report - Febuary 12
Charlotte travelled to Utah on Monday to face the Jazz. In perhaps one of the worst preformances of the year, the Bobcats lost 111-81. Without a post presence, the Bobcats struggled to score shooting only 30% from the field. Utah played well and took advantage of every Bobcat mistake. Reserve C.J. Miles was key for the Jazz as he scored 19 with 9 rebounds. Tyrus Thomas was the one bright spot for Charlotte scoring 18 with 12 rebounds.

On Wednesday Charlotte ended their western road trip in Denver. It was a struggle to score yet again as the Nuggets won 97-83. Nene led Denver with 29 points and 13 boards followed by Danilio Gallinari with 20 points. Gerald Henderson was the Bobcats leading scorer with 23, followed by Kemba Walker with 16.

On Friday, Byron Mullens returned to the team and put forth a solid effort with 16 points and 9 revbounds. However, that wasn't enough as the Clippers defeated Charlotte 108-98. Chris Paul dominated all game scoring 23 with 10 assist while Blake Griffin picked up 17 rebounds to go with 21 points.

Saturday the Magic came to town. Dwight Howard continued his dominant season by scoring 31 and grabbing 17 rebounds and led Orlando to a 116-98 victory. For the Bobcats, Reggie Williams kept up his hot shooting and led Charlotte with 20 points while D.J. Augustin picked up 8 assist to go with 18 points.

Next week Charlotte will take on the Pacers before going on the road to play Minnesota and Toronto. The week after, Charlotte will go to Miami then come home to play the Knicks before the All-Star break.

Injury Report
Starting center Byron Mullens has fully returned from his injury and reclaimed his starting role. There are no other injuries of note for Charlotte at this time.

All-Star Game
This Thursday the NBA will anounce the All-Star rosters and the Rookie-Sophmore Challenge rosters. While their are no Bobcats projected to be All-Stars, it is very possible that Kemba Walker and/or Bismack Biyombo will be named to the rookie roster.

Re: Charlotte Bobcats 30-Team Control Association

Key Game Report
On Wednesday, the Charlotte Bobcats defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves. The game was close at half time, but the Bobcats dominated in the third quarter and pulled out to a lead that they would not let go, winning 118-110. The Bobcats picked up their scoring to snap a five game losing streak. Tyrus Thomas, Kemba Walker, and Gerald Hednerson each scored 20+ for the Bobcats while Derrick Brown picked up 19. Charlotte's defensive combo of Thomas and Bismack Biyombo guarded T'Wolves star PF Kevin Love all game and severly impacted his preformance. Love only had 12 points before the final minutes of the game and was held to 7 rebounds. However, rookie PG Ricky Rubio did his best to keep Minnesota in the game scoring a career high 29 and picking up 11 assist. Overall, it was an exciting game and a solid win for Charlotte.
