Restorin' New Orleans | New Orleans Hornets Basketball
 Kobe Does it Again, Lakers Defeat Celtics in 2012 NBA Finals Kobe and his not so sexy Lakers squad have done it again. Not only did they take home another title, but they did against their bitter rivals, the Boston Celtics, in another dramatic seven-game series. After the Lakers took a quick 2-0 lead in the series. Boston bounced back, winning the next three and taking the lead in the series. However, the LA Kobe's never quit as they won the final two games, and celebrated the series win on their own Staples Center Floor. After the excitment died down a little bit, Ray Allen, the man with the most made three-point baskets in NBA History, announced his retirement from basketball.   Hornets Add Guards in 2012 Draft 1st Rd, Pick #10 - SG Jeremy Lamb, Connecticut After earning the tenth pick in the draft lottery the Hornets selected Jeremy Lamb from the University of Connecticut. Lamb was projected as a lottery pick by the experts, and was an easy pick for the New Orleans scouts. 2st Rd, Pick #40 - SG William Buford, Ohio State With their second round pick, the Hornets were originally looking for a big man to come into the game and play a small. but strong amount of minutes off the bench. By the time, the 40th pick rolled around, the choices weren't too attractive. Instead, knowing who might not want to resign with the Hornets, New Orleans went after another two guard in Ohio State's William Buford. Kid can shoot. |

  Errbody Unhappy! Five Players Ditch 'Nawlins After an unsuccessful resigning attempt, the Hornets were left behind by superstars Eric Gordon, and Chris Kaman. As well as strong role players in Al-Faroug Aminu, and Marco Belinelli. Meanwhile, the Hornets chose not to take back Xavier Henry. This left the Hornets roster completely empty and bare, with room for plenty of change. But how would the Hornets organization fill these openings?

  Hornets Add Four New Faces in Free Agency SG Shannon Brown The Hornets first signing was Shannon Brown. Brown may be best known for his high-flying dunks, but he can also hit from long-range and adds a powerful offensive weapon to this New Orleans lineup. Brown will take over the starting Shooting Guard position this season. SF Danny Green New Orleans found a backup Small Forward in the rising Danny Green. Green, who was very well-known around the country when he played college ball at North Carolina, has had a relatively quiet NBA career with not a whole lot of action. However, last season in San Antonio Danny had a few breakout games, displaying what he is really capable of. C Samuel Dalembert "The Super Haitian," Samuel Dalembert has been bouncing around the league a lot lately since he left Philadelphia. Dalembert isn't Chris Kaman quality, but he adds plenty of depth behind Emeka Okafor at the Center position to a team that's big concern was originally the five spot. PG Keyon Dooling The Hornets waited until a day before their first game to sign Keyon Dooling. Dooling will play behind Jack, and Vasquez at the Point position, and although he probably won't see much action, he is a knockdown shooter on offense, and could be useful is the team begins to struggle.
