Air Canada Centre, Toronto - Game seven. A best of one. Chicago vs Toronto. Coming into the series most experts picked Chicago to win in five or six, despite Toronto's status as the number one seed. By the time th series got to game seven some of the doubters had begun to pick the Raptors but it was still Chicago as the overwhelming favorite. Could Thornton and Petrovic be the heroes and send Toronto to the Eastern Conference Finals or would Derrick Rose lead the Bulls to the promised land? After the first quarter it was knotted up at 27 and Petrovic had started off cold, not a good sign for Toronto. However, in the second the Raptors took over and led 57-45 at the half. The second half would be played close but Chicago wasn't able to overcome the deficit and a barrage of three pointers from the Raptors. Chicago would go down to Toronto 99-88. The Air Canada Centre exploded. Mere minutes after the win the doubters started again, saying that Toronto has no shot of taking down Miami in the ECF. Miami had punched their ticket just minutes before the Toronto vs Chicago game tipped off by defeating Boston 91-79 in their game 7. LeBron and Wade proved to be too much for the aging Celtics in a long series. Now the question became "How could Toronto possibly hang with Miami?" djp had the following comment in the post-game presser: "We've spent the bulk of the season proving people wrong. We don't really pay much attention to them, we just go out and play our game. We knew there was a pretty good chance we would take them on as soon as we clinched a playoff spot." The Lakers and Clippers face off in the Staples Center Series for the Western Conference title.
