Rockets Down Kings 89-79

SACRAMENTO -- The Houston Rockets were clicking on all cylinders as the beat the Kings in convincing fashion 89-79.

The Kings struggled all night with their shooting. "We were getting good open shots," said Isaiah Thomas. "It just happens that we were unable to put them in the basket." Isaiah Thomas finished with 2 points while shooting an abysmal 0-6 from the field.

Terrence Williams was the teams leading scorer with 20 points coming off the bench. "The score may seem close, but it was anything but close," said Williams after the game. "As a young team we have a tendency to play down to our competition. I definitely think we could have beat that team."

After winning 5 games in a row the Kings are now 2-2 in their last 4 games. They are looking for a spark to get them going in this tough stretch of games coming up.

Kevin Martin led the Rockets in scoring with 23 points. "It was just one of those nights," said Martin. "As a player you just wish every night could be like this."

The Kings don't have much time to mope about this loss, as they have to get on a plane tonight a face the Oklahoma City Thunder tomorrow night in the back end of a back-to-back.

JOHN SALMONS AND ISAIAH THOMAS TRADED TO BOBCATS

SACRAMENTO -- John Salmons, Isaiah Thomas, and Francisco Garcia have been traded to the Charlotte Bobcats for D.J. Augustin, Corey Maggette, and a 2013 1st round pick.

The trade comes at a time when the Kings are winning a lot of ball games, but both John Salmons and Isaiah Thomas have been struggling both on the court and in the trainer's room. Thomas and Salmons just haven't clicked with the rest of the Kings team.

"It's a business," said John Salmons as he cleaned out his locker following the news after the Rockets game. "Yeah I'm going to miss this team, but at the same time I am excited to bring my talents to the Bobcats and help that team improve."

"I can't say I'm excited about the move," said Thomas after he got the news. "I feel like we had something special going here in Sacramento, and I didn't even get a chance to prove my self fully. Don't worry they'll regret trading me, I guaruntee that."

The Kings look to get good 3 point shooting from both Augustin and Maggette when they arrive. Maggette also brings veteran leadership to a young Kings team.

The move was also made for salary cap purposes. Maggette has a $10 million expiring contract. Now the Kings have freed up some cap space to resign Evans and Cousins in the next 2 years.

That's a good trade you did with the Bobcats. It will help your team out in the future.
