Week 1: Linsanity Dying Down, Bynum Debuts Strong,Lebron Looking for another MVP

Opening Night: November 1,2012



Tim Duncan and Roy Hibbert duel in the 1st regular season game of the 2012-2013 season. Duncan looked young again, looking for his shot in the post and staying aggressive. Meanwhile, Hibbert showed a side of himself that hadn't really been seen, a strong offensive game, along with some excellent shot blocking. The Spurs came out with a victory due to the help Duncan got from Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili,who chipped in with 20 points off the bench. This was a great way to start the season for San Antonio.



Jeremy Lin and the Rockets get embarrassed by a ready Nuggets squad. Andre Igoudala's defense (7 steals!) helped stop the Rockets from making comeback in the game, and Javale McGee's near perfect game should have him off of Shaqtin' A Fool for awhile. I even think Shaq owes him an apology.



Durant started off cold, but didn't stop shooting, finishing 15-33 from the field with 36 points. Russell Westbrook also struggled from the field, shooting just 7 of 23, but with good D the Thunder got a promising win. Blake Griffin dunked the ball for 4 of his 10 field goals, including an alley-oop from Chris Paul to open the game, but it wasn't enough to stop OKC.

Other Notable Games:

Dwayne Wade drops 40 on banner raising night, as the Heat beat the Hawks 97-105. Lebron James had 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Anthony Davis gets blocked by Steve Nash, but tip slams on Dwight Howard right afterwards, finishing his NBA debut with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Dwight Howard, dropped 33 and 17 on him, so I don't think AD's performance will really be remembered.

Wesley Johnson's fade-away baseline 3 beats the Kings at the buzzer, 108-107.

Andrew Bynum puts up 16 points, 2 blocks and 21 rebounds in his Sixers debut, than swats 7 shots in shocking win over Chi-Town. Do I smell DPOY?

Charlotte shocks Orlando at Amway 113-109 in a battle of the league's worst teams.

Paul Extends With The Clipps Early, 6 YR/176 mil.



Los Angeles --It was announced Tuesday that Chris Paul had made the choice to become a Clipper for what is likely to be the rest of his prime. His new 6 year/176 million dollar deal will keep him in the City of Angels until he turns 33 years old. When asked about a signing a major long term deal so early in the season, Paul answered "right now it's all about being a Clipper, 6 years is a long time, whatever happens during that time happens, but right now it's all about being an L.A. Clipper."

The Clippers are currently 3-2 in the standings, but Paul sees that improving very soon. "We're getting better and meshing better each and every day", he told to the media during the press conference, "G-Hill, Lamar, and Jamal are great players, it's not gonna take long for this group to be 100 %."

Clippers starting shooting guard Chauncey Billups also extended his contract for another year, getting the league's minimum in pay. Los Angeles also signed fan favorite power foward Brian Scalabrine for the same price. Scal promised that he would bring leadership and teamwork into the orginazation, while also jokingly saying that he would teach Blake Griffin how to "really" dunk.
