Martin to continue his career with the Rockets
Posted: November 8th 2012

HOUSTON -- Rumours had been flying about for the past few days that Kenyon Martin wanted to get back on the court and he has finally put pen to paper but not with any of the teams that were rumoured instead he has signed with the Houston Rockets. Martin inks a one year deal worth a reported 2.2 million with a player option worth 2.4 million. It is understood that he will share some sort of a sixth man role with Carlos Delfino. He should be able to bring some defence and experience to this young Rockets squad and prove to be a good mentor for young Rockets power forward Patrick Patterson. He will wear number 11 for the Rockets and should play in their next game at Indiana.

Rose's Road to Recovery
Posted: November 8th 2012

Chicago -- Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose is making a "speedy recovery" according to team doctors and can return sooner than expected but only if he wants to. Everyone remembers the horrific injury Rose suffered in Game 1 of the the first round last season and even if you weren't a fan of the Bulls you still want Rose to come back healthy and ready to play. Chicago are struggling without Rose and are 0-3 in their first three games and it is evident that they need Rose back ASAP if they stand any chance of making the play-off's.

"It's hard to watch and know you cant do anything about it. Of course I want to get back as soon as I can but only if I feel ready. I don't want to rush into things and potentially injure my self again because I wasn't healed properly. Hopefully I can be back before the all-star break or even mid-January"
Howard closing in on return
Posted: November 8th 2012

LOS ANGELES -- Reports coming from L.A are saying that Dwight Howard is almost ready to make his long awaited Lakers debut as soon as the end of this month. Howard missed the last 12 games of last season to have surgery on a Herniated Disk in his back and apparently he is healthy enough to play by the end of the month.

Nuggets struggle to find offense against Portland again
Posted: November 9th 2012

DENVER -- Last time out in Portland it seemed like neither team could find their offense. This time around in Denver, Portland found theirs and Denver again didn't, scoring under 90 points again and only having 4 of their players on double digit scoring where Portland had at least all their starters in double digits, It also probably didn't help that Andre Iguodala sustained an injury and it was later discovered that it was a strained MCL. LaMarcus Aldridge and Nicolas Batum took charge to combine for 45 of Portland's 104 points and the Nuggets were behind from the 1st quarter and never got back into their stride. Two nights after the Nuggets scored 49 points in the 4th quarter this time around they scored a measly 17 and now this defeat puts the Nuggets back down to .500 and puts the Trail Blazers top of the North West division at 4-1.

Now the Nuggets travel to Staples Centre to face the Lakers who will be without Dwight Howard and are 3-3 with Kobe averaging 33 points in the Lakers opening 6 games.

Ty Lawson Cleared to play against Lakers
Posted: Friday November 11th 2012

DENVER -- Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson has been cleared by Nuggets team doctors to play tonight against the Lakers. Lawson has only played 3 minutes this season after being injured in the opening game against the Trail Blazers and has been absent for the last three Nuggets games. Lawson says he wants to play but the question is will George Karl let him and if he does how may minutes will he play.

"I feel good and I've been itching to play ever since I went down on opening night. I think I can play and still contribute at my normal level. The Injury is wearing off and I feel ready and hopefully coach will believe that I'm ready to play again"

Nuggets looking for redemption as they travel to L.A
Posted: Friday, November 11th 2012

LOS ANGELES -- As the Denver Nuggets meet the Lakers in L.A tonight their will be two things on the players and coach Karl's mind's Redemption and Winning. Every basketball fan remember's the thrilling 7 games that the 1st round series went down two between these teams this season and the Nuggets were so unlucky not to win in the end but you never count out a team like the Lakers and this season their even better with Steve Nash playing the point and eventually Dwight Howard manning the middle when he finally gets healthy. It will be interesting to see how the Nuggets approach the game tonight and if they will get their taste of redemption.

Despite late surge Kobe and the Lakers too much for Nuggets
Posted: Friday, November 11th 2012

LOS ANGELES -- Yet another painful loss and another injury for the Nuggets as their quest for redemption over the Lakers has to wait until the team's meet again just before the all-star break on February 21st and by then hopefully the Nuggets will have shown more consistency on both ends of the court and they will have to as by that time Dwight Howard will be back, But tonight wasn't about the Nuggets it was another Kobe show as he dropped another 30 plus points in his quest for another scoring title. There were so many what if's from this game from Denver's point of view like what if they rebounded better or what if Chris Duhon didn't hit a full court buzzer beater to end the 3rd quarter but it's too late for the Nuggets to dwell on failure their is still plenty time to pick up the pieces and improve. With the Lakers staring 10-2 start to the game and them making their first 5 field goals it looked like the Lakers would again be in with a comfortable win but the Lakers foul trouble let the Nuggets back into the game despite their abysmal free throw shooting on the night where they could have had 36 points from the line but only managed 23. With Steve Nash non-existent in this game [4 points and 4 fouls] someone else had to step up and with Kobe doing bulk of the scoring Pau Gasol stepped in recording a double-double of 18 points and 16 rebounds.

This loss now sends the Nuggets back a peg to 2-3 and they are hoping for a win when they welcome their former franchise player Carmelo Anthony back to the Pepsi Centre in 5 days. For the Lakers game 2 of their 5 game home stint continues as the Pistons pay a visit to Staples Centre.

Breaking News!: Andre Iguodala to start against Clippers

DENVER -- Andre Iguodala played against the Lakers just under a week ago with a Strained MCL and looked like he was struggling. After that game he reportedly said to coach George Karl that he was in agony and wanted to sit out at least two games and see if he could recover. News coming from L.A is that Iggy will play tonight against the Clippers as he is feeling much better and is quoted to have said "I feel over 90%". This is a big boost for the Nuggets as they currently have JaVale McGee playing while not fully fit and Wilson Chandler out for another week with an Ankle Sprain. So as the Nuggets travel to L.A for the second time in less than a week this news is a big boost to Nugget fans as they will benefit hugely with Iguodala's defensive ability against a Clipper team who are severely tacked on offence with the likes of Chris Paul and Blake Griffin. The Nuggets will be looking to walk away from L.A second time around with the W.

Game Notes
Denver are currently 0-3 on the Road and will be looking to steal a win in L.A which they couldn't do last time around against the Lakers less than a week ago. The Clippers have been better on the road so far in their opening 10 games with a 4-2 record and at home they are 1-3 and they will be looking to take a step forward in correcting that in this game.

Match-Up's to watch: Chris Paul and Ty Lawson and JaVale McGee and DeAndre Jordan

Chris Paul gets clutch to carry Clippers past Nuggets in L.A
Posted: November 21 2012
LOS ANGELES -- The Nuggets are now 0-4 on the road and 0-2 in L.A after the latest loss the the Clippers but only just as it came down to two points in the end and for the most part there was one man who played a huge part in the victory Chris Paul scoring 32 of the Clippers 101 points and most of them being in the 4th quarter.

But by no means does this loss mean that the Nuggets played bad because they were in it until the bitter end despite starting the game out 0/6 and having three of those shots blocked. They did well to fight back even when it seemed every time they would get within two the Clippers would hit a three pointer or the Nuggets would get lazy on the boards and after a defensive stop they would just let the Clippers have an easy two off an offensive board.

It was certainly a bitter end to the game as in the forth the Nuggets went down by as much as 11 and again showed great resiliency to come back within two with 3:11 left in the quarter. With less than one minute to go DeAndre Jordan would inbound the ball with the game tied at 95 and it would hit off JaVale McGee's hand who would pick it up and show his amazing speed for a big man and dunk it down. Chris Paul would then step up and score two straight baskets for the Clippers to tie the game at 99 and he himself stopped Ty Lawson at the other end from scoring with his brilliant defence, Paul would take the ball up court and bounce pass to DeAndre Jordan in the post who would up and under fake put up a floater which rattled round the rim, Once..Twice and IN! and the L.A crowd would go wild as the Nuggets had 1 seconds to save the game a Ty Lawson brought the ball up court and instantly passed it to JaVale McGee in the post and *** he tried to spin around DeAndre Jordan the ball would be knocked loose but the Nuggets would keep possession, McGee in bounds the ball to Lawson with 6 seconds left who tries to crossover to fool CP3 but can't find a shot as the clock ticks 4..3..2..1 he throws a bad pass to Iguodala and the ball sails out of bounds the crowd explode once more and the Clippers walk away with the W.

"It's hard to stop someone as talented as Chris Paul when they find their rhythm like that. Sure we were unlucky to walk away with the loss and Ty is probably beat up about that last possession but it was other aspects of the game tonight that caught up with us to have to make that last possession count" - coach Karl on the Nuggets loss tonight.

Now the Nuggets travel back home to face a Chicago team who have picked themselves up to 7-3 after their 0-3 start without star guard Derrick Rose.
