Re: The Unstopa-Bulls: A Chicago Bulls Association Dynasty

December 23rd, 2012

John motioned towards the Dominican man, "come here, Santiago."

"Si, sir." Santiago whipered, it could still be heard throughout the Chicago alleyways.

"Did you deliver the message?" John asked.

"Si, sir, si." Santiago quickly replied. He was scared of John.

Santiago paused. "Do you have the $5,000?" his Dominican accent rasped.

"I TOLD YOU!" John hollered. "I DON'T HAVE IT NOW!" he lost control of his temper often. He noticed a light flicker on in one of the Chicago project's windows.

Santiago drew his gun. He wasn't worried. Shootings were common in these regions.

John punched upwards, knocking the gun out of Santiago's hands, landing it square on his chin.

He wilted to the ground in an instant.

John hadn't killed him, he needed Santiago soon.

To say goodbye to Kenny.

Forever.

Re: The Unstopa-Bulls: A Chicago Bulls Association Dynasty

CONTRACT EXTENSION NEWS

Israel Gutierrez | December 25th, 2012

1. Detoit Pistons sign Jason Maxiell to 2yr/2.27M deal

Spin: Detroit will bring back Maxiell for a relative bargain, as the Pistons attempt to begin an identity overhaul, especially on the defensive end.

2. Denver Nuggets sign Tyreke Evans to 4yr/38.52M deal

Spin: The Nuggets get a low risk-high reward deal, as Evans has looked much like the Rookie of the Year since joining the Nuggets (22/5/6)

3. Lakers sign Dwight Howard to 5yr/111.45M deal

Spin: This was an expected move, as the Lakers will determine their team path after the contracts of Bryant and Pau Gasol expire next season.

4. Warriors sign Stephen Curry to 5yr/51.65M deal

Spin: The Warriors begin their march to the playoffs and beyond; Curry will be an integral part to the Dubs' playoff hopes - and beyond

5. Nuggets sign Ty Lawson to 4yr/37.96M deal

Spin: The Nuggets get an absolute steal, and fortify their 1 and 3 positions with Evans' resigning.

6. Spurs sign Manu Ginobili to 1yr/3.80M deal

Spin: Ginobili is still a borderline star contributor. It is curious as to why they only signed the Argentinian to only a 1yr deal.

7. Raptors sign Jose Calderon to 3yr/5.67M

Spin: It was thought Calderon would be traded, seeing Kyle Lowry's All-Star level season, but instead, the Raps get great value for the league's best backup PG

8. Pacers sign Tyler Hansbrough to 4yr/7.26M deal

Spin: Not thought to be part of the Pacers' future, Hansbrough brings hustle and a mid-range J to the Pacers' future and championship dreams

9. Nuggets sign DeMar DeRozan to 4yr/15.53M deal

Spin: It is evident that the Lawson/DeRozan/Evans trio enjoys playing together, as they signed lower monetary value deals to stay together.

10. Bucks sign Beno Udrih to 3yr/4.87M deal

Spin: The Bucks scale down Udrih's overpaid contract for the next 3 seasons. Udrih is averaging 9.1 PPG and 5.2 APG in 24.4 MPG.

Re: The Unstopa-Bulls: A Chicago Bulls Association Dynasty

December 31tst, 2012

"Damn." Jerry [Reinsdorf, Bulls GM] said.

Him and Jerry were out on the road with the team for New Year's, and they were both enjoying themselves in an Orlando Starbucks. The Bulls, 30-0 had games against the 19-8 Magic and stumbling Heat to kick off the New Year.

"What?" Kenny asked "You spilled your latte?" Jerry was wearing a very nice Armani.

"No. Take a look at this." Jerry slid the iPad across the table.

Kenny read the article headline: 'Andre Iguodala set to become free agent'.

This has got to be a joke Kenny thought to himself.

"Well," he asked Jerry, "what are we going to do?"

"First off, that's some bullsh!t right there. Who wants to leave a 30-0 team?"

"Can't dwell on that." Jerry replied back. "Let's look at some free agents."

"What do we need first off?" Jerry asked.

"Hmmm..." Kenny was stumped, there wasn't much they needed. "Gibson's contract is up."

"So Iguodala's 15 mil comes off the books," Jerry mused. "You know, Noah's injury was the worst thing that's happened for more than one reason, if you know what a mean."

Kenny laughed. In Noah's absence, Gibson was the starting center, and was averaging an outstanding 13 points and 8 boards, numbers that got Roy Hibbert into the All-Star Game last season.

"Problem is, all the FAs we would want are at the 4 or the 5. We've got Randolph and Noah locked up there."

"A draft day trade is possible. Especially for Randolph."

"True, true, true." Jerry said "I'm not trading Noah unless we have a realistic shot at Noel."

"That's what John told me" Kenny said. John was their lead prospect scout.
"McAdoo, Muhammad, Zeller, Thomas are among the guys that could go ahead."

"Let's not talk about that now" said Jerry. "Who could we go for?"

"So we could let Iguodala go?"

"Yep." Jerry

"The most logical choice is Josh Smith. He wants out in Atlanta, Atlanta doesn't want him back, and he could play the 3 or 4 well for us."

"I think we need to go for Paul Millsap. Him and Smith are both five-tool guys, but I think Millsap is the right fit. He's controlled."

"Yeah," Kenny said, "but Millsap doesn't have the same ceiling, an isn't a better three point shooter as well."

"Both of them are similar. I want Millsap for a cheaper cost."

"Smith"

"Millsap"

"Smith"

"Millsap"

They both laughed. They sounded just like kids again.

Little did they know the threat about to face them.

Re: The Unstopa-Bulls: A Chicago Bulls Association Dynasty

BULLS DEFEAT BUCKS, SET ALL-TIME RECORD

The Bulls defeated the Bucks 101-78, setting the all-time longest NBA winning streak, at 34.

CHICAGO - Just incredibull. Sorry for the Bulls puns, they're getting stale. What's not getting stale however, is the Chicago Bulls, who won their 34th consecutive game, setting an all-time NBA record for the longest winning streak.

"Wow. Just wow. I can't believe we were the ones to do it, I mean...I'm speechless." said team captain and MVP favourite Derrick Rose.

His words seemed to echo the rest of the team's feelings towards the remarkable achievement. Coach Tom Thibodeau, however, put it into a different light:

"It shows you the power of team play." he said, "The teams past, made of 4 Hall of Famers, 4 All-Stars or whatever, we're not like that. We don't have 4 Hall-of-Famers on our squad. What we do have, is team play. The guys go out hard for each other, they've grown a special brother-like bond between each of them...they execute the offense, partly because they know each other so well. And they're together on defense...they really just love playing together."

That was true, as the Bulls ranked amongst the league leaders in assists, rebounds, field goal % and 3-point %. Twitter was abuzz all night with the Bulls remarkable win:

Just incredible from the @Bulls, @drose, @mindofai9 ...just wow. 34 game winning streak.

-John Hollinger (@johnhollinger)

Hollinger's sentiments were echoed throughout the Twitterverse, as fans, celebrities and basketball experts continued to chime in all night, and the hastag #34andcounting became a trending one soon after.

#34andcounting truly blessed to be a part of the #Bulls and be able to take part in this historic event"

-Andre Iguodala (@mindofai9)

The Bulls defeated the Bucks 101-79, and each of the Bulls 12 that were traveling to the game got court time, as they embraced the moment all game long. From the opening tip, it was evident that the Bulls were here to play, as they shut down Monta Ellis and Brandon Jennings, the Bucks deadly backcourt scorers, as they combined for a total of 14-37 shooting. On the Bulls side, it was all the Derrick Rose show. Rose, who had been misdiagnosed for his injury, was triumphant about this win saying that it was a "great feeling" to be back on the basketball court, and playing at a high level individually and team-wise. Rose carried the Bulls throughout the night, posting 40 points, 8 assists and 4 rebounds on 14-27 shooting, in only 33 minutes.

The Chicago crowd was ruckus all night, as they usually are, and as the 4th quarter approached, the Bulls nursing a 25 point lead, they were on their feet for the whole quarter, knowing the occassion. As a celebration, every fan in the stands received special memorabillia to celebrate the occassion.

"And Mohammed collects the rebound, and dishes it on the outlet to Kirk Hinrich, who will dribble the final 18 seconds off the clock...and there it is! The Chicago Bulls set the all-time mark for the longets winning streak in NBA history. Against the MIlwaukee Bucks...

Kenny couldn't believe it. When he had constructed this team three months ago, he never thought it would come to this.

"Wow." he just muttered to himself, as he sat in his spacious living room.

He called up Jerry. "Hey, Jerry!" he sounded giddy and high at the same time. "Turn to ESPN."

"Got it" Jerry replied. He seemed sleepy. "Holy sh!t!" he exclaimed, "...is this real?"

"Damn right it is." Kenny said.

And he loved it.

John was pissed. "Got dammit" he muttered to himself. This wasn't supposed to happen. It gave him yet another incentive to put the hurt on Kenny. First, his personal beef with John, he traded away all the draft picks for the next two seasons, putting him out of a job, he was just the success story he needed to hate.

He called up Francisco. "Two weeks Tuesday. 10am?"

Francisco's gruff voice replied. "Si, sir. You'll love it. We'll put the hurt on Kenny. Finish him off."

And John loved it.
