Owner Rudd Hires 2 New Scouts

When Josh Rudd became the new owner he said the team would be more focused on scouting. That statement has gone into effect today. Today Rudd hired two talent scouts, Alfred Johnson and Brendin Love to be the 2 new scouts for the team. Owner Rudd said" Our scouting team will be heading into a new direction this year. We will now be scouting on numbers and how the players can be more effective, like a baseball team (most notable the Oakland Athletics)." This could be a very interesting first step to go towards. This could potentially change the status of scouting in a few years. I guess we'll have to just wait and see.

Bobcats Beat The Cavaliers, Off To Pretty Good Start

After the Bobcat's blowout loss to the Jazz, Coach Dunlap wanted the team to be more focused on defense. He said they let the Jazz get too many easy shots. Well the next game versus the Cavaliers was very different. They played good defense, and turned it into offense in their win.

This was going to be a battle of the top 2 Point Guards from the 2011 NBA Draft Class, and rightfully so it was. Irving came out and scored the first 8 Cavaliers points. While on the other side Kemba went 1 for 5 in the first quarter with just 2 points. In the second half thought both Point Guards picked up the pace. Kryie Irving out played Kemba, with 28 points and 7 assists shooting 10 of 23 from the field. Kemba had 16 points with 7 assists and shot 6 of 10 from the field. Not a bad game for either young point guard.

The Bobcats have had problems trying to find out who can come off the bench and score, and the injury to Kyle Korver didn't help. On the other hand, the Cavaliers have found their 6th man (for now at least) in top 5 pick Dion Waiters. Waiters scored 14 points and shot a impressive 7 for 8 from the field. It looks like it wouldn't take too much time before he's the starter in the future. The Bobcat's leading scorer off the bench was Gerald Henderson. He had 9 points, shooting 3 of 4 from the field. Coach Dunlap hasn't spoken about his bench issue, so it looks like we'll have to keep posted on it.

Re: Let's Just Win, a Bobcats Dynasty

Bobcats Fall To The Pistons

The Bobcats started their road trip versus the Detroit Pistons, a team that is still in a rebuild. From start to finish thought, the Pistons showed to be the better team in the game. They played better at every end of the floor. In the end the Pistons won 95 to 71.

Brandon Knight and Rodney Stuckey have made a pretty good back court for the Pistons this season. They also played pretty good versus the Bobcats. Knight had 16 points with 6 rebound and 4 assists and Rodney Stuckey had 15 points with 2 rebounds and 8 assists. Both players worked very well together, and looked like they could work out in the future. Big-man Greg Monroe also played very good leading the game with 21 points and 8 rebounds.

It was clear that the Bobcats left their heads in Charlotte. The team played very awful from start to finish. They had a ton of turnovers, and made very bad plays. Kemba Walker was only held to 6 points and 5 assists. It was clear they made him frustrating in the game, and he showed it with his 4 turnovers. The only player in the game to record a double-double was Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. He had 12 points and 10 rebounds, although he didn't play that well himself. I hope the Bobcats can bounce back, because they have some pretty difficult teams to play on this road trip.

Re: Let's Just Win, a Bobcats Dynasty

Kemba Walker Leads The Bobcats Past The Nets

The Bobcats had to do something, coming off a very bad loss versus the Pistons. It was certain though, that Coach Dunlap wasn't going to go through a road trip with a losing streak. A different Bobcats team showed up against the Nets.

Kemba Walker struggled badly in his last game versus the Pistons. It seemed like no one on the Bobcats could get it going. Well, that changed in the game versus the Nets. Kemba Walker had 16 points, 2 rebounds, and 14 assists, his second double-double of the season. Coach Dunlap said after the game "Kemba is a hard-working player on our team. If he plays to his potential, he has no limit" Michael Kidd Gilchrist lead the Bobcats with 19 points. If the Bobcats can play this way the whole season, they'll be a dangerous team.

The new look Brooklyn Nets started out the game very strong. They had a first quarter lead (27-20) to start the game. They blew the lead later in the game however. Deron Williams was the leading scoring in the game with 21 points, 3 rebounds, and 11 assists. It was a battle of both point guards, Kemba and Deron throughout the game. Gerald Wallace also tacked on 16 points and 7 rebounds. Brooklyn had a hard time getting their bench going, as their leading scorer of the bench was Andray Blacthe with 7 points. It just seemed as though, if the Nets didn't want to play the Bobcats, and just came out flat.
