New Hampshire Wildcats(5-15)
68 @ Stony Brook Seawolves (11-9) 93

UNH 42 26 68
SB 56 37 93

Stony Brook runs away with eleventh victory

New Hampshire collapsing in the second half is more of an inevitability at this point and they held true to form, dropping their scoring output by nearly 30% from the first to second half. At the least, they were already losing by double digits and the margin of difference was smaller in the second half than the first.

Garrett Jones after riding a long streak of good performances has gone ice cold, scoring only six on 3-8 and being shut out from beyond the arc. Ferg Myrick was nearly lifeless as well, going 4-4-4 in points, rebounds and assists but otherwise didn't count another statistic. Chandler Rhodes had signs of life for the starting unit, shooting 50% from the field while pulling in two rebounds to go alone with his twelve points. Scott Morris had a solid showing in his limited time, putting up eleven on 4-6 from the field including 3-4 from beyond the arc.

Danny Carter had a career scoring outburst, scoring twenty six shooting 10-16 from the field and adding six from the charity stripe. Carter blew away his previous high of fourteen. Carter matched up against Nyanguila well enough to stay ontop of him, outlasting the forward and punishing the Wildcats.

The Wildcats skid extends, having now gone nineteen days without a win and it will extend to twenty-one before they get a shot against a severely underperforming Boston University squad.

New Hampshire Wildcats
Points: Rhodes 12
Rebounds: Benson 7
Assists: Myrick 4

Boston University (6-15)
60 @ New Hampshire Wildcats (6-15) 67

BOS 19 41 60
UNH 31 36 67

New Hampshire dominates the first half to prevent a full collapse

As it has been said, the second half collapse is nearly inevitable giving the low level of depth the team puts on the court. Regardless, it was up to the Wildcats to pull out a victory after a tight loss in the pairs last matchup. Fittingly freshman Garrett Jones pulled out of his slump with his first ten point performance in nearly a month, shooting 4-11 from the field, he only had two assists and five turnovers is alarming.

Brian Benson would lead the team in scoring with thirteen points, also leading the team with seven rebounds, the Wildcats would be outrebounded in the game by one. Patrick Konan and Scott Morris each added another ten off the bench, with Morris shooting 80% and Konan shooting 40%.

Garrett Jones absolutely shut down DJ Irving in this matchup limiting him to only three shots in total and two points on the game. Jake O'Brien tied Patrick Hazell for the lead with fourteen points, small forward Daryll Partin added eleven on the Wildcats outside of this group the starting unit and the bench rotation was devoid. Points spread loosely between.

Boston University continues their disappointing season as the teams records tie at 6-15, a 3-6 conference record puts New Hampshire in eight behind Binghamton who owns the tie breaker, while Boston falls to last place with a 2-7 conference record.

New Hampshire Wildcats
Points: Benson 13
Rebounds: Benson 7
Assists: Konan 3

Boston Terriers
Points: T- O'Brien and Hazell 14
Rebounds: Kennedy 8
Assists: Irving 4

New Hampshire Wildcats (6-16)
73 @ Albany Great Danes (11-11) 94

UNH 53 20 73
ALB 49 45 94

Wildcats completely disappear in second half

By this point, it's nearly a joke. The only thing consistent about Wildcat basketball is that the second half will be unwatchable. That was especially true when it became time to face the Albany Great Danes. The game went from extremely competitive to a joke in a mere half.

Logan Aronhalt, junior swingman from Youngstown, Ohio led the game with 31 points scoring, he would also add six assists and three rebounds. Point guard Mike Black posted a double double in a 17 point - 13 assist performance. Following up at the small forward slot, was Theo Hatcher. Hatcher coming into this game at 4.8 PPG put up an outstanding 17 points shooting 6-8 from the field in a strong showing.

Ferg Myrick led the way for the Wildcats with 19 on 9-14 shooting (8-9 1st half), with Kazadi Nyanguila picking up a season high of fourteen. Brian Benson added thirteen in a rare game where the bigs led the way. Chandler Rhodes and Garrett Jones combined for a mere seven points.

This loss ends a one game win streak and could quickly turn into another losing streak. With only six games remaining, the Wildcats will hope that isn't the case.

New Hampshire Wildcats
Points: Myrick 19
Rebounds: Nyanguila 4
Assists Jones 4

Albany Great Danes
Points: Aronhalt 31
Rebounds: Hatcher 9
Assists: Black 13

Maine Bears(13-9) 86
@ New Hampshire (6-17) 60

MAI 45 41 86
UNH 40 20 60

Embarrassing loss once again contributed to awful second half

The Wildcats can't catch a break. Despite playing a strong first half, the second half was just unable to keep it together, a five point game turned into a twenty-six point loss. Garrett Jones ledthe team with thirteen, Ferg Myrick didn't even attempt a shot and the Wildcats lose yet again.

Gerald Lemore once again had a strong game against the Wildcats, with a seventeen point performance despite shooting .333% from the field. Alasadair Fraser added eleven as the England native raised his average from the 6.6 is was when he entered. Freshman two guard, Xavier Pollard came into the game averaging 3.9 PPG, he would put up 14 on 5-6 shooting.

Maine is having a great season and continues rolling along as the Wildcats quickly dream of next year. This season has been a nightmare thus far and the Wildcats have no shot of turning it around. Even to hit double digit wins would require winning four of five or a rare victory into the America East tournament.

Points: Jones 13
Rebounds: Matagrano 6
Assists: Jones 3

Maine Bears
Points: McLemore 17
Rebounds: T- Wilcher and Fraser7
Assists: McLemore 6

New Hampshire Wildcats (6-18)
74 @ Binghamton Bearcats (11-14) 93

UNH 40 34 74
BING 41 52 93

Bearcats run away with second half

The Bearcats were locked into a tight one point matchup that put a strain on a team ambling towards the .500 mark. Whatever happened going into the half seemed to fireup the Bearcats. They came out for a twelve point run to open the second, and closed with another eleven point run in a fifty-two point second half.

Senior center,, Kyrie Sutton with the end of his collegiate career on the near horizon turned in a strong performance, leading the Bearcats with seventeen points and tying the lead in rebounds with seven. Sophomore Robert Mansell and freshman Ben Dickson have offered hope for the future. The youngsters scored ten a piece, while Dickson had an odd game in that he only recorded points and no other statistic, Mansell was much more thorough, wiht seven rebounds and adding an assist.

Garrett Jones led the Wildcats in this game and had a perfect 3-3 first half hitting his lone three point shot of the game. It led to Jones finishing with a team high twelve points but he continued to struggle distributing the ball. The entire starting lineup had solid contributions in this game, with Chandler Rhodes adding eight points and five rebounds and Brian Benson adding nine and five as well as leading the team in assists and steals with three.

The Wildcats have four games left, and their season concluding matchup against Vermont could decide whom finishes last in the conference. The Wildcats would have to win out to not have the worst overall record in the America East.

New Hampshire Wildcats
Points: Jones 12
Rebounds: Nyanguila 6
Assists: Benson 3

Binghamton Bearcats
Points: Sutton 17
Rebounds: Sutton 7
Assists: Brown 3

New Hampshire Wildcats (7-18) 75
@ Hartford Hawks (11-17) 61

UNH 42 33 75
HART 31 30 61

Jones leads Wildcats in victory of strong Hawk squad

In a rare victory that was in more rarer given it was over the #3 team in the conference helped the Wildcats inch away from the bottom and towards the higher teams. The Hawks were simply outmanned in this game, out played in every half, out rebounded, out assisted, out stolen and out blocked.

This victory was a rare across the table win in that every major stat went in favor of the Wildcats. Wins like this display the true talent level of this team, their execution is a whole other issue entirely. Garrett Jones led the Wildcats with 15 points on 5-9 shooting, he would also add six assists, two steals and two rebounds. The big man rotation of Kazadi Nanguila and Brian Benson also had a solid outing, with Nyanguila scoring 12 and pulling in seven rebounds and blocking a shot. Benson had fourteen with five rebounds and three steals.

Dustin Clarke had another decent performance, the freshman two guard exploded for the opening win in thie matchup but finished just shy of his season average by scoring 12, he did post a double double, with twelve points and ten boards. Outside of Clarke, Nate Sikma (FR) was the only clear standout for the Hawks, scoring eleven and pulling in six boards, while recording at least one in every stat category.

The Wildcats improve to 7-18, if they win out they will at least be guaranteed a ten win season, after last season and their 12-18 record, it will be a small step backwards but given the lesser talent pool and lack of height only so much blame can be placed upon Tyler Kroyle.

New Hampshire Wildcats
Points: Jones 15
Rebounds: Nyanguila 7
Assists: Jones 6

Hartford Hawks
Points: Clarke 12
Rebounds: Clarke 10
Assists: Brothers 6

Stony Brook Seawolves (14-12) 89
@ New Hampshire Wildcats (7-19) 50

SB 47 42 89
UNH 23 27 50

Stony Brooks' defense smothers the Wildcats

In one of the worst performances to date by a bad Wildcat squad, the Seawolves simply smashed the squad on their home court. It wasn't even close at the half, already down 24 at halftime, the small crowd that had made their way in for the game had ended up leaving, clearly disgruntled and unhappy.

Kazadi Nyanguila played a good amount of time at center as the team rested senior center Brian Benson (who finished with 2 points and a rebound in two minutes). Nyanguila made the most of the opportunity scoring eleven with five rebounds. Patrick Konan put up ten at the two guard slot while on the opposite side of things, Ferg Myrick skidded to a two point performance in a rare start in his native small forward position. Chandler Rhodes whom got the start at power forward was dominated in the matchup with only two points and four boards.

Dallis Joyner finished the game as the only starter for the Seawolves without double digits in point totals and this outburst was led by the twenty-four from senior forward Danny Carter. The England native simply dominated this game, albeit falling one rebound shy of his season average. Leonard Hayes upped his season average of 6 PPG with a strong fourteen point performance, while Dave Coley and Tommy Brenton rounded out the top of the scoring with twelve and eleven points respectively. Brenton would aded nine rebounds while Coley added five and four assists.

The extremely small lineup the Wildcats sported could be attributed to the loss but it has been a rough season for the team which will seek to stave off a twenty-loss season. Two regular season matchups against lower half squads could have this team bouncing back a little.

New Hampshire Wildcats
Points: Nyanguila 11
Rebounds: Myrick 6
Assists: 3 tied at 2

Stony Brook Seawolves
Points: Carter 24
Rebounds: Brenton 9
Assists: Coley 4

New Hampshire Wildcats (7-20)
58 @ UMBC Retrievers (10-17) 65

UNH 35 23 58
UMBC 33 32 65

UMBC holds off Wildcats to stay atop them in standings

In a matchup of the bottom of the America East, the Retrievers kept themselves out of the bottom with a tight victory over the Wildcats. The team struggled a little early but managed to bring it within two by the end of the half. They rolled out to an early run and ended up winning in a seven point contest.

Chris De La Rosa tore apart the Wildcat defense managing twenty-two on 8-15 shooting, adding four rebounds, three assists and one steal. He however was forced into five turnovers and was shutout from beyond the arc, forced to make the majority of his baskets from the midrange game in. The next highest scorer came off the bench, Jordan Wejnert scored nine on four of ten shooting and hit his only three point attempt, the freshman small forward added two steals in his strong showing off the bench.

No Wildcat broke the ten point mark in this matchup, Chandler Rhodes came close with nine points but wasn't able to produce elsewhere on the court and was shut out from beyond the arc. Garrett Jones struggled to a 25% shooting percentage, he would add six rebounds, three assists and two steals and was perfect from beyond the arc (2-2).

Kazadi Nyanguila was the best player in a bad situation, with nine points and seven rebounds, he led th eteam in both categories, also leading the team in blocks with three. The Wildcats picked up their 20th loss. Their season concluding matchup against Vermont will determine who finishes in last.

New Hampshire Wildcats
Points: T- Nyanguila and Rhodes 9
Rebounds: Nyanguila 7
Assists: Jones 3

UMBC Retrievers
