Injury Bug Hits Atlanta



NBA.com -- After only two games into the season, the Atlanta Hawks will be without their starting power forward and their point guard. Jeff Teague went down with a hand injury against Houston and Josh Smith was injured during the Hawks game against the the Thunder.

Teague's MRI revealed a torn hand ligament and he's expected to be out 4-6 weeks. Smith's MRI revealed a sprained shoulder that will keep him out 4-6 weeks.

The Sacramento Kings take on the Golden State Warriors in a Pacific Division matchup. Both teams are in a 3 way tie for first place in the division. The Warriors won the season series last season 3-1.

Sacramento -- Today the Kings announced the signing of swingman Terrence Williams. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Williams, who was cut by the Pistons during preseason, played for the Rockets and Kings last season and averaged 7.1 pts, 3.4 reb, and 2.2 ast a game.

Williams' Buzzer Beater Lifts Kings Past Warriors


Sacramento -- After being cut during the preseason and going to China and play, Terrence Williams made the most f his next shot in the NBA. Williams finished with 22 points and 9 assist including the game winner against the Golden State Warriors on Monday night.

After loosing the season series last year to the Warriors, the Kings drew first blood this season. Even thought the Kings held the Warriors to 38% shooting, the Warriors forced overtime behind sharp shooting of Steph Curry who finished with 36 points and 10 assist. Curry's backcourt mate Klay Thompson chipped in 24 points and a career high 6 steals.

Demarcus Cousins finished with another double double with 23 points and 16 rebounds. Tyreke Evans flirted with a triple double finishing with 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assist.

The Kings will look to continue their winning ways when they host the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night.

Perkins Out With Foot Injury



Oklahoma City --[/size] Coach Brooks announced that they will be without starting center Kendrick Perkins for 1-2 weeks due to a sore foot. The Thunder don't wanna risk further damage so they will sit Perkins until his foot in healed.

Perkins is averging 5.0 pts, 6.8 reb in 24.5 min a game this season. Hasheem Thabeet will step into the starting role while Perkins is out.

Brooks Drops 30 In OT Win Against Lakers



Los Angeles -- On a night where Steve Nash dropped his 10,000th career assist, the Kings spoiled the milestones by beating the Lakers 114-102 in overtime.

Aaron Brooks led the ways finishing with 30 points, a season high. Brooks and the Kings picked apart the Lakers with the pick and roll all night. brooks also went 7-14 from three. DeMarcus Cousins notched another double double finishing with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Cousins went 7-14 from the field and 10-12 from the charity stripe. Guard Tyreke Evans dished out 12 assist and chipped in 15 points.

Kobe Bryant led the Lakers with 24 points but had an off shooting night (8-21). Steve Nash finished with 19 points and 10 dimes. Dwight Howard scored 16 points grabbed 8 boards and blocked 3 shots in the loss.

Scola Heads To IR With Broken Hand



Phoenix -- An MRI revealed that Suns forward Luis Scola will be out 4-6 weeks with a broken hand. Scola suffered the injury against the Chicago Bulls after only playing only 27 minutes.

In 33 minutes a game Scola is putting up 15.6 pts, 8.3 reb, and 4.4 ast a game for the Suns this season.
