Lakers 99, Warriors 90
Lakers are able to rise to the challenge by beating young Warriors Lakers put together a solid fourth quarter to win sixth straight LOS ANGELES, The Lakers seem to know to take advantage of situation and it's usually the first two months of the season that gives the Lakers a much needed advantage as their schedule consists primarily of home games and it's never been a surprise to anyone that the Lakers take care of business at home. Despite them having to endure two long lengthy road trips in the month of February, they are able to counter that with a sizeable homestand , which for them started tonight against the Golden State Warriors. The Lakers began a six game stay at home and brought in with them a five game winning streak to start the season. What they didn't count on was the Warriors putting up a fight like they did pushing the Lakers to the limit and forcing them to earn everything they would get. In the end however, the Lakers made the plays they needed to make down the stretch and were able to pull away and defeat the Warriors 99-90 for their sixth straight win to start the season. Kobe Bryant finished with a game high 36 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 assists while Dwight Howard recorded a double double with 24 points and 12 rebounds along with 2 blocks. The Warriors controlled the tempo of the game and were able to keep the Lakers from getting out in transition thanks to their aggressive offensive rebounding in the first half that found them leading the Lakers 54-51. Andrew Bogut led the Warriors with a team high 24 points along with 14 rebounds, hitting 10-15 shots from the field. Jarrett Jack off the bench for the Warriors added 17 points and both Klay Thompson and David Lee each had 12 points apiece. The Lakers will host another divisional rival on Sunday when the Sacramento Kings come to town.
