More NBA Teams hit by Injuries, Lakers the Worst
Posted: November 19th 2012

LOS ANGELES -- The Injury bug is striking the NBA and taking some teams by force recently. The Lakers have been hit the worst taking out two of their four stars and their two big men, Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard. Howard was injured in the Lakers 84-75 vs Golden State when he fell hard after going for a block on Warriors big man Carl Landry. He was later diagnosed with a broken wrist and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks. In the practice the day after Pau Gasol was reportedly going for a lay-up in scrimmage and was blocked by a team-mate where his hand was crused between the ball and the backboard. He has been diagnosed with a broken hand and will miss 4-6 weeks.

Mike D'Antoni had this to say:

"We have been so unlucky the last couple of days. To lose Dwight and then Pau is really a big blow to our season thus far. Most of our role players are doing well to come in and contribute but theirs only so much they can do when they are use to playing 15-25 minutes a game and its a big jump to play 30-35. I have confidence that they can still come in and do well as we have great talent on the bench."

Here's a list of the most significant injuries to teams:

LAL - Pau Gasol - Broken Hand - 4-6 weeks
Dwight Howard - Broken Wrist - 6-8 Weeks

SAS - Manu Ginobili - Broken Oblique - 6-8 Weeks

OKC - Russell Westbrook - Bone Bruise - 1-2 weeks

BOS - Paul Pierce - Sparained Neck - 4-6 Weeks

WAS - Emeka Okafor - Severe Ankle Sprain - 2-4 weeks

Hawks get it done in the 4th, Easily see off Magic
Posted: November 19th 2012

ATLANTA -- The Hawks got it done tonight against their divisional rivals the Orlando Magic. Big performances from the Atlanta Guards Lou Williams who poured in 22 points off the bench and Jeff Teague who added 20 points along with 50% shooting form beyond the arc insure Atlanta walked away with a W.

At first it looked like it would be a long night for the Hawks when the MAgic started out with a 10-3 run not a bad start for a team who are bottom of the league in scoring at 81.3. The Magic were also 60% from the field by the end of the 1st quarter and it looked like the Hawks were sleeping on the defensive end.Lou Williams would rally the Hawks in the 2nd quarter though as he came of the bench and hit three consecutive three balls to keep the Hawks in the game.

The Hawks D after the break would help get them back in the game and they looked like a different team and it looked like they were starting to finally build a lead. The only thing that seemed to be killing them was offensive rebounding the Magic's rebounding spark came from a surprise source in Josh McRoberts who scored most of his 14 points from offensive rebounds. The Hawks eventually improved and outscored the Magic by 10 points in the final part of the game Josh Smith played a big part with his rebounding in the 4th on the night he finished with 14 rebounds again adding to his season average of over 11.

"I'm glad we were able to close out the game for once. I was getting worried about us giving up to much on the offensive glass, but Josh was so aggressive in the final parts of the game with his rebounding and defence and played a big part in the win"
- Hawks coach Larry Drew after the game

The Hawks now climb above .500 and will host the injury-stricken Wizards in two nights and the leagues worst Magic host another struggling team in the 3-8 Pistons in two nights aswell.
