This is the first game of the season for a developing rivalry, one that may become the best rivalry in the NBA. Cross City Rivalry. Both teams will rely on their bench to provide beneficial minutes while each team's starters rest. The Knicks and Nets will also depend on their star shooters, Carmelo Anthony and Joe Johnson respectively.
11 Points
9 Rebounds
6 Assists
Despite the offensive struggles for Carmelo Anthony, he still earns player of the game for his hard work rebounding and passing the ball. Melo hopes to improve his scoring for next game and to shoot around 50% from the field.
Madison Square Garden was silent as the Miami Heat dominated majority of the night, pulling away from the hometown Knicks in the 3rd quarter when they struggled to rebound resulting in a loss of major points. The Heat dominated, with two players(Chris Bosh and Udonis Haslem) completing the games with double-doubles and Lebron James with a triple-double. Dwayne Wade also contributed a team high 30 points as Miami cruised to victory. New York Knicks Coach Mike Woodson announced a few changes that will be coming: Raymond Felton will not start the next game due to his poor performance the first couple of games, he will be replaced by Iman Shumpert who will take over the point. Jason Kidd will also take a more substantial role despite his struggle to score in the 2nd half of the Knicks-Heat game. Chris Copeland will also move to the Inactive list and will be replaced by Steve Novak in hopes to spark the shooting of the Knicks. James White will replace Pablo Prigioni
Back to Back game series that will travel to Philadelphia tomorrow. The 76ers will look to dominate in the post while the Knicks bench is playing at the 4 and 5 positions. New York will look for Carmelo to dominate against an average player in Dorell Wright. Amar'e will also be looked for a big game as he faces off against the smaller Young. Stay tuned for this battle!
