Mavs Week 13 Review

Rival Suns Just Not Good Enough

The Dallas Mavericks(23-21) have started winning again, beating their rivals, the Phoenix Suns(22-23) 118-83. Iman Shumpert had 26 points for Dallas, and that was just the beginning. Mike Conley had 11 points and 12 assists, and Chris Kaman had 12 points and 10 rebounds. The only bad thing for Dallas was the fact Chandler Parsons broke his foot(he did score 19 points!) and will be out for 6-8 weeks. Goran Dragic had 17 points for the Suns.

Conley Strikes Again
!

Last week, Mike Conley hit a game winning layup versus the Spurs. This week, he hit a game winning 3 versus the Portland Trailblazers(25-20) with 3 seconds left to give the Mavericks(24-21) a 97-95 victory. Conley had 14 points and 10 assists, and Dirk Nowitzki had 15 points and 8 rebounds. Big men LaMarcus Altridge and Taj Gibson lead the way for Portland. Altridge had 21 points and 12 rebounds, and Gibson had 13 points and 15 boards. Dallas heads to the Oakland for their next game.

Mavs Streak Now at 5 With W vs Warriors

The Dallas Mavericks(25-21) defeated the Golden State Warriors(27-19) in Oakland today by a 114-111 score. There was no last-second shot this time, but it was still a big win. The Mavericks had not won in California all year, and they managed to this time, mostly because of Dirk Nowitzki, who had 29 points. Mike Conley had 18 points and 13 assists. Klay Thompson was amazing, with 33 points. Jarret Jack had 19 points and 10 assists, and David Lee had 18 points and secured 13 rebounds.

Mavs' Guards Too Hot for Suns

The Mavericks(26-21) are riding a 6 game winning streak now, and are showing no signs of stopping, beating the Phoenix Suns(23-24) for the second time this week, this time in a 101-76 rout. Roddy Beaubois had 22 points, Mike Conley had 21, and Iman Shumpert had 20. Shannon Brown lead the way for Phoenix with 19 points.
Team Leaders
Pts: Dirk Nowitzki 19.3
Ast: Mike Conley 7.7
Reb: Chris Kaman 8.5

Mavs Week 14 Review

Dirk Leads Mavs Past Thunder for 7th Straight

Dir Nowitzki stepped up this time, hitting a 3 pointer with 5 seconds left. The Oklahoma City Thunder(29-19) couldn't handle the Dallas Mavericks (27-21), losing 95-92. Iman Shumpert had 20 points, and Mike Conley had 13 points and 9 assists, including the game winner. Kevin Durant had 24 points, and Serge Ibaka had 14 points and 10 boards. Dallas heads home to play the Portland Trailblazers(27-21) in their next game.

Dirk & Co. Too Hot, Win 8 Straight vs Blazers

Dallas is hot now, and it looks like no one will stop them. Dirk Nowitzki had 23 points and 9 rebounds, and the Dallas Mavericks(28-21) beat the Portland Trailblazers(27-22) 101-98. Mike Conley had 21 points, and Iman Shumpert had 20. Daiman Lillard looked good, with 18 points and 8 assists.

Iman to Good for Golden State, Mavs Push Streak to 9

The Dallas Mavericks(29-21) beat the Golden State Warriors(28-23) 115-98 in Dallas. Iman Shumpert had 26 points, and Dirk Nowitzki had 23. Klay Thompson wasn't as good, only scoring 27 points this time in Stephan Curry's absence.

The Mavs are on FIRE. The team is looking real good now that Dirk has found his groove.

Hmm. The West is stacked every year, so I don't see the Mavs getting a top 3 seed. I'll call a 4 seed or a 5 seed ... probably facing someone they hate. Rivalries are made in the playoffs.

If we win the division, we are guaranteed a 4 seed

"You know" KJ said to Lexi "The team could really use some bonding. We should do something together over the All-Star Break!"

"That sounds great!" Lexi said "But what are you going to do?"

:"i don't know. But whatever it is, the guys in the All-Star game would have to miss it... Hey, I think I got something!"

"Do tell" Lexi told him, "I bet its a great idea"

"How about a one-on-one tourny? It would make sure the guys stay basketball ready while still being fun!"

"Sounds good!" Lexi said to hm

Before the Hawks game, KJ went to the locker room and said to the team

"OK guys, if you aren't in the All-Star game, we have decided we are going to hold a one-on-one tournament on Saturday at Mark Cuban's house, the watch the festivities, then hold the final on Sunday to crown a winner, and watch the game. If you can't make it, please tell me. I will post the bracket soon. Go get 'em boys!"
