Huge win over Pacers... Harden flirts with trip-dub with 22-7-7 but the starters come out early in a laugher as the Rockets wrap up a long homestand going 5-2. He and Parsons (19 pts) led a balanced attack featuring no less than ten players scoring at least five points each.
This game was also a bit of a breakout game for D-Mo. He was featured on several possessions during a key 19-6 run to end the 3rd quarter, along with Harden and Parsons. Patrick Beverly also had eight points and four assists in this game.
Even benchwarmers G.Smith and F.Garcia played in this one as every player who hit the floor for Houston scored. It was very nice to see McGuire involved in the offense. The Rockets are still struggling with getting their usual steals numbers. Look for this to be addressed in practice.
Royce White was not suited up for this game and the team issued a statement: "Due to his unwillingness to travel with the team to participate in our upcoming road games, we have requested Royce White stay in Houston and receive treatment from our team doctors in the hopes of seeing him back in a Rockets uniform next year".
Terrence Jones was assigned to the D-League before the game. The two open roster spots will be filled by Francisco Garcia and Greg Smith for now.
The Rockets fly to Memphis tomorrow for 8pm ET match on Friday 03/29 with Marc Gasol and the rest of the Grizzlies.
Look for the matchup preview soon. Box score tomorrow.
The Red, White, and Silver start a tough road/home back-to-back against the Grizzlies and then Clippers. Thomas Robinson has held his own against the likes of Tim Duncan recently with a 20-10 game on the Spurs.
This contest showcases some great matchups: Offense vs Defense at the 2-guard, Young vs Old at the 3, and Turkey vs Spain in the battle of the bigs.
Can the Rockets continue to win the rebounding battle? Will they finally get some steals from their backcourt? You know the feisty Grizz will...
The Rockets are officially en fuego after shooting 57% against a top defense in the Grizzles. After falling to the Spurs five days ago, Houston has blowout wins over the Pacers and now in Memphis. They led by as many as 31 in this one, using another big 3rd quarter to fuel their success. They also continued to crash the glass, winning the rebounding battle 45-23.
Linsanity led all scorers with 25, earning POtG honors with his 5 boards and 6 dimes. Parsons had a very nice line with 19-7-7. Delfino continues his torrid shooting pace. Harden finally gets some steals to show for his hustle. Looking for Lin to pick us the pace in that department. Look for a correction in this teams FT% as they have been hitting everything lately (literally 23-23 in this game).
The Rockets catch a quick red-eye back home to meet the Clippers who lost 123-114 in San Antonio tonight as part a Texas - Two Step. Matchup preview up next...
Should be a fun one tonight as two high-powered offenses clash in this one. This could be round 1 playoff preview. Lob City has been a bit deflated during this 3 game losing streak. Seems like Blake Griffin has been the only one playing like they were last week when they won four in a row.
