Celtics acquire Jeremy Lamb and a 2014 draft pick

The Boston Celtics acquired shooting guard Jeremy Lamb in a deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Celtics are trading away Jordan Crawford and a 2014 first-round pick to OKC. They also traded Jason Terry to Portland for their 2014 first-round pick in order to clear cap space.

"We are very excited that we were able to acquire a young shooting guard like Jeremy. We think he'll bring a lot to the table this year and will help us a lot in the future as well", said new GM, Kevin Monroe, after the trade was announced.

Paul Pierce traded to the Clippers

The Celtics have decided to finally break up the core they had the past few years by trading Paul Pierce to the Los Angeles Clippers for Caron Butler and a 2013 1st round pick.

After 13 years in Boston, Pierce has been traded back home to California where he grew up. The Clippers made the Finals this year but lost to the Heat in seven games.

In 2012-13, Pierce averaged 18.6 PPG, 6.3 RPG, 4.8 APG and 1.1 SPG. The Clippers are looking for a guy this offseason to push them over the hump to win the championship and Pierce may be just that guy. They still have big decisions this offseason to see whether Chris Paul will stay or leave for a different team.

Sacramento trade DeMarcus Cousins to the Celtics

Just when we thought DeMarcus was starting to calm down, he gets traded. The Celtics sent Avery Bradley, Jared Sullinger and Courtney Lee packing in return for Cousins. Back in January there were rumours about a possible trade, but that never fell through. Now it seems that the Kings are done with DeMarcus's antics and are starting over with Nerlens Noel as their new franchise center.

Cousins averaged 17.1 PPG, 9.9 RPG and 0.7 BPG in 30.5 MPG. Former GM, Danny Ainge seemed very high on him and it seems like Kevin Monroe is the same. Right now we can't tell who the winners of this trade are. It all comes down to Cousins and his behavior. If he puts it all together, the Celtics will easily be the winners of this trade.

The Boston Celtics announced the signings of Jarrett Jack, Carl Landry and Corey Brewer to fill the voids that Avery Bradley, Jared Sullinger and Courtney Lee left after they were sent to Sacramento.
