Thanks. Just a quick note, the in-season power rankings will not have explanations. I'm using this and the opening night power rankings sort of like season previews, as doing individual season previews is very tedious. I may do individual season previews after a full offseason, but I didn't think it was necessary here.

Bad News guys. I got the red ring. My Xbox is shot, and unless I can find a way to fix it, this dynasty is canceled. I'm not ruling out the possibility of it coming back online, but I'm putting this series on hold for a while, until i know for sure. I'll let you know as soon as I can. This f*cking sucks. Sorry. This means the potential cancelation of both of my dynasties, as both were run on that console. It's not ALL bad, just 95% bad. The only bright side would be I could potentially start new dynasties, as my brain floods with new ideas every day on a series. This will not likely include a football dynasty until madden 15, because I cannot stand madden 25 right now, and have no intentions of buying it for next gen, nor do I have the capacity to play my current ten copy or NCAA football 14. I have a basketball story in mind, but I don't know whether or not it will make it to the forums or not, as I would have to play it on NBA 2k14 next gen, which would involve me starting my MyCareer over, since I hate MyGM and it would have to be a player dynasty.

I turned out my Xbox just needed a new power source, and now that I have one, I can continue with my dynasties. Sorry for the scare. I'll get back on track tomorrow.

This... could get ugly.

The Bucks travel to MSG to face the Knicks and defending scoring champ Carmelo Anthony. The Knicks finished last year near the top of the conference, while you could find a picture of the Bucks in the dictionary next to the word 'mediocre'. It will be an interesting opener for the Bucks.

Now, here are my 3 keys to the game, for the Bucks:

Contain Melo

Priorities number one, two, three, and four all have to be "Stop Carmelo Anthony at all costs." If he gets hot, it could be an ugly day for the Bucks. Unfortunately, they lack a true perimeter defensive stopper, so this could be a difficult task. Expect 'Melo to see many a double team tonight. Caron Butler, the man who will be charged with covering 'Melo for most of the game, should be in for a long night if 'Melo goes off like we know he can.

Get OJ Rolling

Offensively, it is imperative that the Bucks get our best scorer, OJ Mayo, going early, as we don't have a great offensive team. They need to get him shots off screens and in spot up situations to get him hot, as he is one of the better shooters in the league. OJ was a big acquisition for them this offseason, and has big expectations coming in this season.

Larry Sanders

Larry Sanders needs to establish himself as a defensive presence in the paint tonight. With dynamic scorers like JR Smith and Carmelo Anthony on the opposition, forcing them to stay outside and contesting them on drives will help to contain them, and maybe even help the bucks steal an upset victory tonight in Madison Square Garden.

Wow. I knew it would be bad, but this was downright pitiful. The Bucks lost to the Knicks tonight, starting the season off on a sad note. We were thoroughly dominated by the far more talented Knicks squad. It was clear that the Knicks were on another level tonight. Even 'Melo, who noticeably cut back on his shot numbers due to double teaming, played great team ball, and, uncharacteristically, this team ball mentality led the Knicks to victory. We, on the other hand, did just the opposite. The ball seemed to stick tonight, as we seemed to be running just Iso's and screens to get shots, instead of using ball movement and passing. Head Coach Larry Drew was absolutely livid in the press conference following the game.

Now, I was able to see some positives in tonight's game game, and since its already clear that we sucked, let's highlight a few bright spots, just since dwelling on the bad isn't doing us any good.

GREEK FREAK!

Wow. When given the green light, like Giannis was in the garbage minutes of the fourth quarter, he is just something to watch. Oozing with potential as we know, Antetokounmpo may be further along with his development then we thought. Going 6 for 13 from the field and pulling off some pretty exceptional highlight plays, including a pretty impressive post move into a fadeaway which he nailed. 15 points in 12 minutes isn't bad at all, and if he keeps getting opportunities to get his feet wet, he could develop into a star.

Larry Sanders vs. Tyson Chandler

If there was any part of the Bucks play that was enjoyable to watch, it was the battle down low between 2012 Defensive Player of the Year Tyson Chandler, and our young center, Larry Sanders. Both are long players who provide a presence at the rim. They both put in some major work on the boards, Sanders getting 24 rebounds and Chandler with 16. Both also did a decent job guarding each other, but not well enough for them not to get good looks at the basket. The too battled all night, and it was one of the few things I enjoyed watching. As a basketball purist and someone that is a strong proponent of a team built around a great center (see; '60s celtics Russell, Billl; 70's lakers Chamberlain, Wilt, Abdul-Jabaar, Karrem; 90's rocket Olajuwon, Hakeem; Spurs of the last 15 years Robinson, David, Duncan, Tim.), seeing a battle down low is refreshing in todays game.

While most games I will have three positive takeaways, there were only two this game, because of how bad we played. While some would point to OJ Mayo's 32 points as a bright spot, he did so on 37% shooting and 27 shots, so it's really not all that impressive. With the amount of shots he took, getting anything less than 35 should be considered a bad performance. While that may be harsh, its the truth.
