Position: Shooting Guard

Size: 6'7", 210

School: Oregon, Junior

Strength:
- Smooth stroke on his jump shot
- Three-point shooting
- Catch-and-shoot ability
- Moves well off the ball
- Mid-range jumper
- Has a nice runner
- Athleticism
- Ideal size for an NBA shooting guard
- Rarely forces the issue
- Decent rebounder
- Rarely misses at the line

Weaknesses:
- Slashing ability
- Body control in the lane
- Finishing around the bucket
- Not a great defender

- Needs to improve his ball handling

Summary: Young has one of the prettiest outside strokes in all of college basketball. It is his outside shooting ability that will be his biggest weapon in the NBA and teams are always looking for deadly shooters. He is a capable athlete as well which is why he figures to be a mid-late lottery pick.

Player Comparison: Aaron Afflalo. Afflalo has developed into a terrific outside shooter which is Young's M.O. Both guys are better off when others create and set them up for open looks. Afflalo is a more tenacious defender but if Young can continue to improve his all-around game like Afflalo has since arriving in the league, Young should be a dangerous offensive weapon.

Magic Select Jordan Livingston with the second overall pick

"It was when David Stern called my name," Livingston said on when he found out the Magic would take him. "It was just a surreal experience. It was definitely an unbelievable experience. I'm glad I got to do it with my family and my friends. Just going down there on a visit to Orlando was crazy. It was fun. They knew what they were doing, it was very thorough and I had a great time. I'm glad I'm able to go out there and impact winning and help change the program in a positive way."

The 6-foot-5 guard averaged 22.4 points per game while shooting 59.9 percent from the floor and 44.1 percent from beyond the arc.

Livingston said the Magic will not see anyone who has worked harder than him in his post-Draft interview with Shane Battier on the broadcast.

"I'm looking forward to meeting my teammates, getting to know them and building their trust because I'm going to war with them every night," Livingston said. "And I want them to be able to trust me that."

That is something that many definitely felt the Magic would look for in a player. That fits the culture they want to build.

It also means there might be some pressure on Arron Afflalo now as Livingston seems clearly to be the Magic's shooting guard of the future.

Nelson paces Magic's win over Pacers

The Orlando Magic started of the season on a strong note by defeating one of the best teams in the NBA. They led the Pacers the whole game and halted thier comeback attempt to hang on for a 86-82 season opener win.

Jameer Nelson led the Magic to victory scoring 13 points, dishing 5 assist and collecting 5 rebounds. Tobias Harris recorded a double-double in the win as well: 11 points, 10 rebounds. Jordan Livingston, who was making his NBA debut, chipped in by scoring 10 points in 13 minutes.

"It was a good start, no doubt. I'm still getting used to this team, learning how every one plays. But coach and my teammates have been great so far, and i already feel like i'm light years ahead of where i was at the beginning of training camp. I got plenty of room to improve too, so i look at tonight's game like a small first step in what will hopefully be a long and successful career." said Livingston when asked about his NBA debut.

As for the Pacers, they are real disappointed in this loss. Paul George led the Pacers with 24 points and 10 rebounds.

The Magic will travel to Minnesota tomorrow and take on the Timberwolves.
