With a new structure to the Dunk contest with reach dunker doing 3 dunks and judges will vote to find a winner, the dunk contest seemed promising, but in wide circles was deemed a disappointment.

Re: A New Era In The Desert

Suns Acquire Turner From 76ers

AP -- With only a few days before the trade deadline, the Phoenix Suns have made a move which could help them now and in the future. The Suns have taken advantage of the Philadelphia 76ers fire sale and have acquired Evan Turner, Lavoy Allen, and Elliot Williams. With the 76ers sitting dead last in the East with the 2nd worse record in the league, the team let other GM's know that everybody is available outside of Nerlens Noel and Michael Carter-Williams. In exchange, the Suns sent Marcus Morris, Archie Goodwin, and their own 2014 1st round pick to Philly.

Turner, who was drafted 2nd overall in the 2010 draft, is having the best season of his career. Turner is averaging a career high 19.0 points, and a career high 5.0 assist a game. With his addition, the Suns now have another player outside of Eric Bledsoe and Goran Dragic who can get their own shot and get shots for others. Allen is expected to get some minutes because he instantly becomes one of the teams best defensive bigs. Williams is expected to be placed on waivers.

Evans and Allen are expected to play in the Suns's first game after the all star break on Tuesday night against the Denver Nuggets.

Trade Breakdown:

Suns Acquire:

SF Evan Turner
PF Lavoy Allen
SG Elliot Williams

76ers Acquire:

PF Marcus Morris
SG Archie Goodwin
2014 1st Round Pick (Suns)
