As far as assists goes, I don't know if I have every had a guy who has averaged over 5-6 for the entire season. I do have occasional games where I will get 10 assists a game
I just don't get how other players can post realistic numbers but mine never seem to lol. I mean there are other big men getting only 4 rebounds a game.

I am gonna try and play every game vs a ranked opponent this season. As well as Maryland and UNC regardless of record/ranking. If it turns out I can effect season numbers by doing so, I'll attempt to schedule about the same amount of ranked games every year.

My pg who left after his jr year was coming off 9ppg and 4.8 APG. Still left. I don't get that at all lol.

#10 @ #5

In a match up of two top ten teams most expected a close fought battle. Duke, however, had other ideas in this one. They started on an 11-0 run and at one point lead 24-3. A big key to that was grabbing rebounds and hitting 6/6 from beyond the arc to start the game. Duke would lead 42-24 at halftime.

H. Byrd: 10 points, 6 rebounds (3/6 FG)
T. McCrommon: 15 points (6/8 FG)

Duke: 62% FG -- 6/9 3PT -- 17 Rebounds
GWU: 35% FG -- 3/10 3PT -- 10 Rebounds

In the second half it was almost a complete 180. The Colonials would start on a 15-5 run to make it a single digit game at 47-39. They would keep at it, inching closer and closer. Then with six minutes remaining it was 56-51, Duke still on top. The Blue Devils, however, would show why they are so highly regarded and go up 11 just a couple minutes later en route to a 12 point victory. After starting the game 6/6 from deep, the Blue Devils would go just 2/9 in the second half. A big reason why the Colonials were able to make it a game again. Both McCrommon and Byrd would struggle in the second half. They would go a combined 2/11 from the field in the second half. Duke's star center Dwon Sharp would score 11 points in the second half to carry the Blue Devils to the victory.

Re: JJ4's CH2K8 Coaching Career

#9 vs #2

Despite Duke beating George Washington handily to open the season, most people were expecting a closer match up as the #2 Blue Devils traveled to #9 Texas Tech. Most notable difference was the game being in Lubbock and not in Durham.

Those people would turn out to be completely correct. Nobody would be able to get a bigger lead than five points in the first half. And if you liked defense and low scoring games, you would've been happy watching. Texas Tech would able to pull out a 22-20 halftime lead.

Despite only leading by two at halftime the Red Raiders shot 50% from the field and they wouldn't make a three going 0/3 from deep. They would however dominate in the paint scoring 18 points down low. Texas Tech was lead by W. Law who would go 4/4 from the field and score 8 points.

The story was quite different on the Blue Devils side. They would go 2/8 from deep but shoot an atrocious 30% from the field and score just 6 points down low. Their star guard Stockman would shoot 1/7 and score points. Sophomore sensation Hakeem Byrd would score 2 points on 1/5 shooting.

The beginning of the second half belonged to Texas Tech. They would continue to frustrate the Blue Devils offense, and extend their lead to double digits. Duke, showing their resilency, wouldn't fade away and fought back. Before you knew it the Red Raiders lead dwindled down to 43-39. Duke, however, wouldn't be able to capitlize on fighting back. Texas Tech would lead 52-43 with 2:00 left, and after hitting free throws late in the game they would end the game on a 20-9 run.

#2 Duke: 48
#9 Texas Tech: 63

Duke
30% FG
6/24 3PT
6/8 FT
23 Rebounds
10 points in the paint

Texas Tech
55% FG
3/9 3PT
16/21 FT
33 rebounds
26 points in the paint

Coach on the Loss:
Quote:
Ya know, it's kind of funny that we lost by 15 yet it was apparent they were gonna win long before we stopped fouling. I say that's funny because the game could've ended with us losing by single digits yet that score wouldn't have been any where near indicative of how bad they really out played us.

Our performance was absolutely atrocious. 30% shooting, 48 total points. That's pathetic. And I'm not taking away anything from them; their defense was absolutely amazing today. They were on point on offense as well. They out played us, out preformed us in every faucet of the game, out hustled us, out smarted us, I got completely out coached as well. I began to out think and over coach myself. Players feed off their coach, and that's exactly what happened. No one was decisive. No one was communicating properly. Everyone was trying to go one on one. That's not Duke basketball. That isn't what Coach K built and instilled here. That's not what the fans expect. That's not what the players, coaches, AD, anyone affiliated with our university expects. It's not that Texas Tech beat us - it's how we reacted to it. And how we played through the beat down that bothers me. This isn't the NBA - you can't have a bunch of guys going ISO all game and still manage to win. Especially when you're playing a great team, a well coached team, like Texas Tech.

We have to get better. Plain and simple. This was the worst loss I have ever had in my coaching career. And trust me, I have had plenty of bad loses in my time. This is Duke and it's time that we start acting like it. Expect some changes to get us refocused on our mission.

How tall is Stockman, or I guess the better question why is he on the bench instead of Spaulding.

Are you hoping the new size lineup get's you more Rebounds?
