By the Numbers: 90. This game was tied up at 90-90 in the final 2 minutes before the Wizards went on a 6-2 game clinching run.

Quote of the Game: “The road that is built in hope is more pleasant to the traveler than the road built in despair, even though they both lead to the same destination.”
-- Marion Zimmer Bradley

Parting Shots: At this point in the season, a tie late in the ball game almost feels like a win for the winless Sixers. The game was all square at 90 before the Wizards' finishing kick took them over the finish line.

PG John Wall was a matchup problem for the Sixers and scored 32 points to go with 10 assists--it was difficult for MCW to stay on front of the smaller, quicker Wall.

Rookie wing Andrew Wiggins had his best pro game so far with an efficient 26 points on 16 shots. Wiggins also contributed 7 boards and posted a +10 in his 39 minutes--those other 9 minutes were a problem.

Thaddeus Young double doubled with 17 points and 13 rebounds and is starting to provide a consistent presence in the low post.

By the Numbers: 4.5. With the game tied at 104 with 4.5 seconds left in regulation, Michael Carter-Williams missed a potential game-winning free throw and the game went to overtime.

Quote of the Game: “This is the way the world ends.
Not with a bang but a whimper.”
-- T.S. Eliot

Parting Shots: The Sixers again were on the brink of their first win of the '14-'15 season before letting it slip away.

This game pitted the Sixers against the new look 4-2 Orlando Magic with Carmelo Anthony, and the Magic just had too much firepower. Both #1 overall pick Nik Stauskas and Arron Afflalo came off the bench to provide solid contributions.

Victor Oladipo had a huge game with 32 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals, and 4 3-pointers. Melo chipped in 23 points and a game-changing 3-pointer with 7 seconds left in the 4th quarter. The shot put Orlando up 104-103.

With a chance to tie or take the lead, MCW drove hard to the cup and was fouled with 4.5 seconds remaining. Carter-Williams sank the first FT to tie the game at 104-104, but clanked the second FT. The game went to OT and Orlando was able to pull the game out in front of their home fans.

With 21 points and 4 made 3-pointers off the bench, expect Tyshawn Taylor to replace the struggling Alec Burks as the starting SG soon.

By the Numbers: 8. The number of attempts needed before the 76ers got a win.

Quote of the Game: “Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!”
-- Dr. Seuss

Parting Shots: For a change, the 76ers were in control of the game throughout and ended up blowing out the Wizards 108-84 to avenge a Nov. 8 loss.

The 76ers starting lineup was fairly balanced with no standout production. New starter at the 2-guard, Tyshawn Taylor, had a rough 1st game in the starting lineup.

The bench was huge for the Sixers with 46 bench points. Thanasis Antetokounmpo and Cleanthony Early were sparkplugs. Alphabet 2 had 17 points and 6 rebounds in only 18 minutes. Early scored 15 points on only 8 shots in 15 minutes.

Nerlens Noel
posted his 2nd straight double double and third consecutive double-digit rebound performance.

John Wall was once again the focal point of the Wizards, but this time he received no help whatsoever. Wall scored 28 points with 9 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, 1 block, which led the team in each category save for rebounds.

Trainer Scott McCullough
: You're not gonna like this John, but Nerlens Noel has an injury (Back Spasms / 1-2 weeks). He can play through it, but that may cause him to aggravate it. What do you want to do?

Fogerty: Well, no wonder we got blasted by 47 against the Hawks the other night. Noel was playing hurt. We have to rest Nerlens and get Henry Sims some more run.

Re: Proud Philly | Rollin' on the Delaware River [NBA 2K14 | PS4]

Breaking news out of Philadelphia indicates that 76ers reserve PF Dante Cunningham has been arrested and charged with felony domestic assault by choking out his girlfriend. Police also say that Cunningham was sending "terroristic" texts. Immediately after news spread regarding Cunningham's arrest, GM John Fogerty held a conference call with reporters explaining that he had released Cunningham, and saying he could care less what the NBA Collective Bargaining Agreement states, there's no place for this type of behavior on this team. It's unclear if the 76ers will look to add more depth at PF, but in the meantime, Danny Granger could be called into action to play the 4 if needed.

So that's 32-year old center Tyson Chandler on a 3 year deal for 26-year old Thaddeus Young with 1 or 2 years left on his deal (player option). Fogerty politely declined in his idiosyncratic way of using old CCR lyrics in response...

Verdict: DENIED

Man so close to a win win for both teams I don't know I mean seems like maybe you just don't see the true value. You would be opening up a huge whole at PF for someone to get PT and prove their worth. Sometimes you just got to spin the negatives into positives.
