Re: Trial By Fire: DJ Haas's Career

We actually blew this year recruiting wise. There's some surprises in store next update though.

Re: Trial By Fire: DJ Haas's Career

Time to Shine

After crushing Auburn and South Carolina by ten points each, the Cats faced Florida for the tournament championship. Aaron Harrison however, would not start in that game. This was DJ Haas's comment before the game.
Quote:
Aaron's a great talent but he's really lost his way lately. It's not a bad thing, it happens to everything. We're just letting him sit out until he sorts it out. Instead we're starting Alex at SG and moving Dakari to SF. Willie will be playing C tonight.
Running a up tempo offense that ran Kentucky ragged early, Florida led at the half by three. They had led by as many as six but at the halftime buzzer, Alex Poythress hit a three to cut the lead.

Kentucky pressured Scottie Wilbekin more on defense during the second half and forced him to pass the ball sooner, resulting in more turnovers, and UK took the lead very soon after the half started.

They slowed down the offense and Dakari Johnson exploited Florida's tired forwards to lead second half scoring.

With this win, UK clinches a perfect regular season.

Hitting the ground running

UK would go on to win the number one seed. Kansas, Michigan State, and Memphis make up the other 1 seeds. Notable 2 seeds are Duke, Syracuse, and Michigan.

In game one Kentucky vanquished American, 81 to 89. James Young had 27 points off the bench and Randle had 13.

In round three, Kentucky faced Wisconsin, defeating them by ten in a game where Randle led all scoring and had five dunks, three in the second half. Aaron Harrison's struggles continued as he went one for four on the night. Benched in the second half, Dakari Johnson took his place.

They face rivals Florida after this win.

Re: Trial By Fire: DJ Haas's Career

The road to Arlington will go through San Diego State

Kentucky bested Florida, winning by six after a late Florida comeback. New starter James Young has proven he belonged, and Dakari Johnson has been lights out all season. Scottie Wilbekin was benched to start the game, and that costed Florida in the end after his backup had no assists and five turnovers in the first half.

DJ's sportsmanship was questioned when Andrew Harrison made a 3 pointer from the parking lot at the end of the game. He made no comment on this.

I think I'll put this on hold. I'm not good at writing basketball writeups. We did win the title against UCONN for anyone wondering.
