Commissioner Adam Silver announces league changes


Commissioner Silver announced NBL Monday morning to AP.
4/7/14 -- Commissioner Adam Silver announced major rule changes to the league formerly known as the National Basketball Association. The league has changed the format to a fourteen game schedule. Similar to the NFL the NBL (National Basketball League) regular season schedule is more meaningful. The rosters will be smaller due to lack of minutes in the game
League Changes
14 game schedule - 8 Minute Quarters
Conference Quarter Finals - 3 games
Conference Semi Finals - 3 games
Conference Finals - 3 games
NBL Finals - 1 game

Nuggets acquire guard MarShon Brooks


MarShon Brooks looks to find a home in Denver
The Nuggets acquire guard MarShon Brooks Monday in a three team deal. Denver sent a 2nd round pick to Los Angeles for the third year guard out of Providence. The Lakers received a 2nd rounder and veteran point guard Luke Ridnour and the Bobcats received a 2nd round pick from Los Angeles.

Brooks has bounced around from Boston to Golden State to LA. The former 25th selection in the 2011 draft will battle for a spot in Denver. Brooks will wear #1 in Denver.

G - MarShon Brooks 6'5, 200 Providence
Brooks will start as a prospect in Denver.

Nuggets look to Rebuild in 2014
Denver weak link in Northwest


Kenneth Faried averaged 11.5 ppg last season

'14 Projected Record: 6-8
The Nuggets will look to rebuild in 2014. Prospects Evan Fournier, Marshon Brooks and Quincy Miller will all get increased minutes. The Nuggets are expected to battle for a playoff spot but not win a championship. 6th man Danilo Gallinari and role players JJ Hickson and Nate Robinson will rotate off the bench.

Quincy Miller

Miller earns increased Minutes
Second year player Quincy Miller


Former 2nd round pick Miller seems to be finding comfort zone.
Miller will likely start the season on the bench but look for solid minutes in 2014. Miller was a second round pick in 2012.

F/G - Quincy Miller 6'10 220 - Baylor
Miller average 1.3 ppg in 2012 and will start as a prospect.

Nuggets trade Lawson to New York in three team deal
Denver looking towards future



Ty Lawson spent four seasons in Denver
Nuggets sent star point guard Ty Lawson to New York in a three team deal. Lawson a former first round pick, spent four season in Denver and is coming off a career year averaging 15.7 ppg.

The deal included the New York Knicks and Cleveland Cavaliers.Dion Waiters, from Cleveland will be sent to Denver as part of the deal. Denver also received knicks point guard Raymond Felton.The Cavaliers receive Iman Shumpert and a first round pick from New York. The Knicks receive Ty Lawson.

Cavaliers - Receive G Iman Shumpert, NY '14 1st round pick,DEN 2nd round pick and G Randy Foye
Knicks - Receive G Ty Lawson
Nuggets - Receive G Dion Waiters and G Raymond Felton

Waiters future bright in Denver


Dion Waiters averaged 14.7 ppg in his rookie season
The Denver Nuggets trade for Cleveland Cavalier combo guard Dion Waiters. Waiters, just 22 years old is coming off a good rookie season averaging 14.7 ppg for Cleveland. The former #4 overall pick in the 2012 will be the primary option on offense.

The Nuggets are looking to rebuild and clear some cap space for expired contract Kenneth Faried this offseason. Waiters will play shooting guard and wear #5.

G - Dion Waiters 6'4 220 Syracuse
Cle - 14.7 ppg, 2.4 rpg. 3.0 apg
Waiters will be a starter in Denver.
