The Season Kicks Off

The season started today with a old fashioned grudge match with South Orange taking on Pittsburgh. In the hunt for another national title, the Pirates look to start their season off right. But, the Steelmakers are determined to not let that happen.

The first half was back and forth, South Orange leading but Pittsburgh coming back. Speed Johnson(4* Recruit) gave the Pittsburgh defense trouble in the paint, taking advantage of his matchup, the inexperienced Kemba Olson. The 6'6 combo guard had 15 in the first half, his teammate Kai Osmond with 12, six from behind the free throw line. NJ led the game 45-44.

Pittsburgh went on a 6-0 run to start the second half and took the lead 50-45, but AJ Brandt hit a AND-1 to get the lead down to two. Speed Johnson tied the game after getting a steal and pulling up for a three pointer.

Late in the game, Speed fouled out after attempting to block Kemba Olson, who scored to put Pittsburgh up in the closing seconds, 66-64. With no Speed to bail them out, SO relied on AJ Brandt to take the ball for the final shot.

He fired up a step-forward two pointer from the corner, taking advantage of the 2-3 zone, and hit the shot at the buzzer.

I'm going to have a pause between now and OT. You can post what's happening with your players before OT starts.

Pittsburgh wins in OT

Pitt defeated NJ in OT by a score of 75-70. Without Speed Johnson getting boards, SO fell apart rebounding wise and the game was sealed when a three pointer was missed by AJ Brandt and the rebound went to Derrick Oldston of Pittsburgh. After the game, the fans stormed the court as Jim Calhoun's team walked off as losers.

Re: Corridor Ten Basketball Conference

The next game is tomorrow! I was going to write it up today but I'm editing the thread to make information easier to find. Soon all the player bios will be on page 1 and I should have ratings up soon.

Re: Corridor Ten Basketball Conference

Sorry about having to break this game up but I didn't get my laptop until a little bit ago. I'll do the first half today and the second half tomorrow.

Attleboro clashes with Rivals.

At the end of the game, everyone in town knew the names of George Burns and Brandon Hamilton. The guard combo had 15 points each at the end of the half. Hamilton had ten points in the paint as he cut inside and exploited a slower defense. George Burns also used the slow defense as a chance to score and scored all his points on layups or foul shots. C Hunter Keyes had eight as he posted up his smaller matchup and got one and one.

Half two will be tomorrow.

Re: Corridor Ten Basketball Conference

A Not So Great Second Half For Boston

Boston's back line was slow but big and they used their size to get three straight blocks to start the half. Burns was subbed out for playing badly a couple minutes into the second half but Hunter Keyes lit up the scoreboard by scoring ten straight to take a 48-40 lead. Boston's big men were tired and played less aggressive, allowing Hamilton to grab another and 1 to go up by eleven.

Attleboro won the game 65-53.
