Massacre in Brooklyn
Struggling in the East, the Raptors really needed this win tonight. Going against the Nets, the worst team in the East, the Raptors showed no mercy. 911 came running into the Barclays Center right after the game ended. There are no reports on how many people have left the building during this massive 42 point blowout. The only players from the Nets that scored over 10 points were Jeremy Lin with 21 and Teletovic with 15. The Nets scored 29-76 from the field and 2-13 from the 3 point line. The major victims of the event were Marcus Thornton and Mason Plumlee. Although Thornton is the main scorer on the bench, he played horrible going a whopping 1-14 from the field and making no threes at all in five attempts; but the good news is that he made all of his free throws. For Plumlee, he only made 1 field goal in 6 tries and was just getting shut down by Steve Novak (when Novak is playing like a lockdown defender, you know there is something wrong with the team). Novak guarding Plumlee was like Bill Russell on Kwame Brown. Jason Kidd probably wanted to spill his drink, but all of the drinks were used to try to stop the fire from the Raptors' scoring. On the bright side, Jason Collins scored 9 points in 12 minutes.
Anyways, let's start talking about the Raptors' side of the game. From the start of the game to the end of the game, the Raptors were burning down the city of Brooklyn. Many houses were destroyed from the Raptors' 40-66 field goal and 10-19 from beyond the arc. Nobody knows how were the Raptors pulling this off, but it happened. DeRozan led the team in points with 22 and did not have any other stats except for 1 block and 1 turnover. Terrence Ross is the player of the game with 17 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block in 6-8 shooting and making 1 3 pointer. Eventually, the Raptors' starters just decided to visit the Brooklyn Museum and the bench was playing for the majority of the second half. Despite only playing for 8 minutes, Landry Fields led the bench with 14 points, 4 rebounds, and making all 4 of his 3 pointers. All of the bench players had the chance to show what they have. Greivis Vasquez still ran the offense with 11 points and 7 assists, and Patterson had a good stat line of 7 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists. For the rookie watch, second rounder LaQuinton Ross struggled with his shot but was able to put up 7 points to go with his 3 rebounds, 2 assits, 1 steal, and 1 block.
