J.R. Smith was a man on a mission tonight as he put up a massive 43 points and 7 assists against a poor Pistons defense. Detroit knew they were in for a long night when the Knicks knocked down 3 pointers in succession in the first two minutes of the game and their dominance continued from there.

Gerald Green was a bright spot offensively for the Pistons but his defensive work let him down, as well as his four turnovers. Malcolm Lee managed to put up 17 points in ten minutes from the bench and was second highest scorer.

Despite the away team winning the rebound battle they six more turnovers which constantly stalled any momentum they were able to get going and even a 17-6 run in the fourth quarter was only enough to narrow the Knick's lead to 7 before they pulled away again for what was in the end an easy, dominating victory.

A small plus point for the losers was that the leagues top scorer, Carmelo Anthony, was held to 19 points.

THE HOT: J.R. Smith

">

A completely dominating performance in a game where he could score at will and at times toyed with the Detroit team.

THE NOT: Brandon Jennings

The Detroit Point Guard put up only 6 points in 26 minutes and provided 4 assists.

That was a tough game. The Knicks barely missed anything until the fourth.

DETROIT PISTONS: RETURN OF THE BAD BOYS

2013/2014 SEASON

TRADE: BILLUPS OUT, PARSON & DRAFT PICK IN

The Houston Rockets finally got their man as they added veteran point guard to their roster at the expense of forward Chandler Parson and a first round pick in the 2015 draft.

Billups was averaging 14 minutes and 7 points a game this season where he was backing up Brandon Jennings and offered experience and versatility but Chandler Parson gives the Pistons the stretch 3 they've been looking for since Gerald Green was moved to the shooting guard position.

Parson, 25, will go from playing starters minutes in Houston to backing up Josh Smith but can also slot in at the Power Forward position when needed.

DETROIT PISTONS: RETURN OF THE BAD BOYS

2013/2014 SEASON

INJURED DRUMMOND TO MISS 6 WEEKS

Andre Drummond, starting Centre for the Detroit Pistons, will miss 4-6 weeks of action due to ligament damage in his right elbow.

The second year man has had a fine season so far and leads the NBA in offensive rebounds.

His spot on the line up will be taken by Timofey Mozgov and Josh Harrellson will be activated as backup.
