Reports coming out of Bulls HQ are that certain factions are calling for rookie Nikola Mirotic to see much more playing time and possibly leap ahead of both Carlos Boozer and Ty Gibson on the depth chart and take over the starting role.
With Boozers hefty contract weighing in at around $15 million the Bulls management are eager to off load the Power Forward and many thought it would be Gibson who was the natural successor but it is the Serbian who is impressing in his limited court time this season.
However starting Mirotic would mean a change in tactics as he and Boozer are both different players. Boozer is an inside scoring threat whereas Mirotic is more of a stretch 4 as he he proving by his 0.429% from beyond the arc and a field shooting percentage of .548 overall.
Both stats are better than Boozer's, although mainly coming against bench players.
The Chicago Bulls fans are keen to see more of Mirotic and pressure from the management could force Tom Thibodeau into making some changes.
