Pound, Pound, Pound....... Swish. In warm-ups all Campbell could think about was if he was going to be one of those top recruits who wouldn't pan out in college. Since Campbell was 5 he dreamed of making it to the top. First high school, then college, and lastly to the NBA. In high school Campbell dominated back in his little town in New York. Scoring more than 30 points per game and more than 10 assists a game. Campbell didn't know if he could be that star in college.
"Campbell!"
"Yes Coach?"
"Your getting the start at the 1 tonight."
"Coach... I don't know if i'm ready. Ever since I started I keep having thoughts that I won't make it in basketball."
"Are you serious? You have the most potential and skill out of ANY of these freshman even though the dip-****s at ESPN said you didn't. Just go out there and play basketball the way you would in your backyard."
"Yes Coach!"
Radford.gif (0-0) @ Mich.gif (0-0)
The first half was a struggle as Radford was playing AMAZING defense and Michigan was trailing at half 31-17. Campbell with 4 points and 1 assist shooting 2-6. The huge deficit didn't stop Cole Campbell from getting a win in his first college game though. Michigan started the 2nd half with a 16-0 run and 6 of those points came from Campbell fast break dunks. With Cole Campbell and Trey Burke the Michigan Wolverines outscored Radford 44-19 in the 2nd half to win on opening day. Trey Burke had 17 points and 5 assists as Tim Hardaway Jr had 13 points and 14 rebounds.
