Re: Brew City Hoops | Milwaukee Bucks MyLeague

Smith Signs With Rockets

Josh Smith has agreed to sign with the Houston Rockets.

Smith was waived this week by the Detroit Pistons.

Smith has been promised a spot in the starting lineup and now has the opportunity to play beside former AAU teammate Dwight Howard. Smith only would consider clubs offering a starting spot, which limited his options to the Rockets and Miami Heat

Smith will likely sign a deal with the Rockets for the biannual exception of $2 million.

The Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, Dallas Mavericks and Sacramento Kings also had interest in Smith.

Teague shines as Hawks top Bucks
By Brew City Hoops
Posted Dec. 26, 2014

The Good: Jeff Teague. Jeff Teague absolutely had his way with the Bucks defense in the Hawks 104-98 win. Teague put in a game high 32 points and 5 assist in just 29 minutes of action. Teague went a very efficient 12-of-16 from the field while going 3-of-5 from behind the arc and a perfect 5-of-5 from the free throw line in the victory.

The Bad: Brandon Knight. Brandon Knight looked rusty in his first game back after spraining his left knee. Knight played 30 minutes and finished with 5 points and 8 assist. The former Wildcat only shot 2-of-6 from the floor and he went 1-of-4 from three in the loss.

Rookie Watch: Jabari Parker. Jabari Parker did all he could to pull out the win for the Bucks but it wasn't enough. Parker finished with 22 points on 7-of-12 shooting in 31 minutes. Parker also pitched in with 2 rebounds, 2 assist, and a steal with a blocked shot.

X-Factor: Paul Millsap. Paul Millsap was right behind Teague in scoring as he scored 22 points to go along with his 10 rebounds, 4 assist, and 2 steals in 29 minutes. Millsap made eight of his fourteen shot attempts in the Hawks 17th victory on the season.

On Tap: Atlanta Hawks

Hawks hold off Bucks, 95-91
By Brew City Hoops
Posted Dec. 27, 2014

The Good: Jeff Teague. Jeff Teague led the the way for the Hawks as in filled up the stat sheet against the Bucks. Teague finished the night with 15 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assist, 2 steals, and 2 blocked shots in 29 minutes. Teague shot 5-of-10 from the floor and went 2-of-5 from three in the Hawks 5th straight victory.

The Bad: Brandon Knight. Brandon Knight struggled shooting the rock against the Bucks in a bad way. Knight went 3-of-14 from the field including a woeful 1-of-7 from behind the arc to score 7 points in 30 minutes. Knight finished with a team high 7 assist but it wasn't enough to overcome his shooting struggles.

Rookie Watch: Jabari Parker. Jabari Parker led the Bucks with a 15 point, 7 rebounds, and 3 assist performance in 33 minutes of action. Parker shot 50% (6-of-12) from the field and made three of his eight three point attempts in the loss to the Hawks.

Quotable: "We had a chance to tie the game at the end but we just didn't execute. This will be a learning experience for the team." Bucks Head coach Jason Kidd

Bucks can't overcome Jefferson and Hornets, falling 100-92
By Brew City Hoops
Posted Dec. 29, 2014

The Good: Al Jefferson. Al Jefferson put on a clinic against the Milwaukee Bucks after laying a dud against them six days ago. Big Al put up 26 points on 10-of-19 shooting from the floor and 6-of-8 shooting at the charity stripe. Jefferson also pulled down 8 rebounds with 2 assist, a steal, and a blocked shot in 36 minutes for the Hornets.

The Bad: Jabari Parker. Jabari Parker had one of the worst shooting games of his young career against Charlotte. Parker shot a miserable 4-of-16 from the field and went 1-of-10 from behind the arc for 12 points against the Hornets. Parker also finished with 6 rebounds, 2 assist, 2 steals, and a blocked shot in the Bucks third straight loss.

Rookie Watch: P.J. Hairston. P.J. Hairston only played 16 minutes off the bench for the Hornets and ended the night scoring 5 points and pulling down 3 rebounds on 1-of-5 shooting from the floor. The former Tar Heel went 2-of-2 from the free throw line.

X-Factor: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. MKG was the main man behind Parker's shooting woes. Kidd-Gilchrist used his length to bother Parker all game long forcing him to take long contested jumpers. MKG also had a nice offensive game finishing with 12 points and 10 rebounds in 32 minutes.

Parker and Bucks upset Cavaliers
By Brew City Hoops
Posted Dec. 31, 2014

The Good: Jabari Parker. Jabari Parker got the best of LeBron James in their 2nd matchup with each other. Parker poured in a game high 27 points with 7 9 rebounds, 2 assist, 2 steals, and a blocked shot in 35 minutes. Parker had a sub-par shooting night (9-of-24), but he did knock down a game high six three pointers as the Bucks snapped their three game losing streak.

The Bad: LeBron James. The four time league MVP had a terrible shooting game to his standards as the Bucks used a team defensive effort to hold James to a season low 19 points. James shot a season low 8-of-20 from the floor and had no free throw attempts for the first time all season. He did have a game high 3 blocked shots in the loss.

Quotable: "Much respect to Jabari, the kid is the truth." Cavaliers SF LeBron James

X-Factor: Brandon Knight. Brandon Knight held his own against former all star MVP Kyrie Irving. In 35 minutes, Knight filled up his stat sheet with 19 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assist, and 3 steals on 8-of-19 shooting from the field in the four point victory.

On Tap: Indiana Pacers

Bucks Waive Wolters

Bucks Waive Wolters

The Milwaukee Bucks have waived guard Nate Wolters, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports.

Multiple reports indicate the Bucks are expected to sign forward Kenyon Martin to a 10-day contract to fill the roster spot vacated by Wolters.

The signing of Martin, 37, could happen next week.

Martin tweeted the following on Thursday afternoon: "Great day. Excited to be back in the court. Would like to thank the Bucks for the opportunity to play again. #letsgo"
