Western Conference Quarter Finals: Game 5 Recaps:

[4] Portland Trailblazers (1-4) lose in a battle of the bigs to the [5] Memphis Grizzlies (4-1), 107-99. Zach Randolph dropped 38 and made sure his team wasn't going to let game 5 slip through their fingers. Memphis moves on to face the Golden State Warriors and will look to give the young Golden State crew its real first playoff test.

Portland Trailblazers Notable Stats:
LaMarcus Aldridge- 29pts, 14reb, 2blk.
Aaron Afflalo- 18pts, 2ast, 1stl.

Memphis Grizzlies Notable Stats:
Zach Randolph- 38pts, 8reb, 1blk.
Marc Gasol- 14pts, 15reb, 3ast.
Jeff Green- 18pts, 8reb, 2ast.

[3] San Antonio Spurs (3-2) get blown out on their home floor to allow the [6] Clippers (2-3) to stay alive for a game 6 that will be at Staples Center, 109-86. Blake Griffin drops an astounding 47 points. Jamal Crawford also provided a lift from the bench that just kept running up the score. The Spurs may still have two games to get it done but the Clippers showed they're not out yet.

San Antonio Spurs Notable Stats:
Tim Duncan- 18pts, 5reb, 2blk.
Tony Parker- 16pts, 2reb, 3ast.

Los Angeles Clippers Notable Stats:
Blake Griffin- 47pts, 12reb, 1blk.
Jamal Crawford- 21pts, 1reb, 1stl.

[2] Houston Rockets (4-1) were led by a determined Dwight Howard who dropped 45 points and 17 boards to put the Rockets over the [7] Dallas Mavericks (1-4), 104-113. James Harden had a rather quiet night but it wasn't needed. The Mavs couldn't get the interior Defense it needed from Tyson Chandler to contain the Rockets. The Rockets owned the paint for all 4 quarters.

Houston Rockets Notable Stats:
Dwight Howard- 45pts, 17reb, 1blk.
James Harden- 21pts, 1reb, 2ast.
Trevor Ariza- 19pts, 3reb, 5ast.

Dallas Mavericks Notable Stats:
Monta Ellis- 31pts, 5ast, 2stl.
Dirk Nowitzki- 17pts, 13reb, 1ast.

Eastern Conference Quarter Finals: Game 5 Recaps:

[1] Atlanta Hawks (3-2) falls at home to the [8] Charlotte Hornets (2-3), 130-110. It was high paced game due to the suffocating defense of the Hornets and countless unforced turnovers by the Atlanta Hawks. Lance Stephenson who hasn't been quite what they expected him to be has delivered more than the goods so far in this series.

Atlanta Hawks Notable Stats:
Al Horford- 34pts, 16reb, 2blk.
Jeff Teague- 20pts, 5reb, 6ast.

Charlotte Hornets Notable Stats:
Lance Stephenson- 35pts, 6reb, 4ast.
Al Jefferson- 22pts, 13reb, 2ast.
Cody Zeller- 15pts, 14reb, 3ast.

[3] Toronto Raptors (4-1) win a close one to capture the series against [6] Milwaukee Bucks (1-4), 116-109. Toronto's Big 3 in Valanciunas, Lowry, and DeRozan stepped up big and are looking to make a statement against the Cavs in the semi finals. The Toronto crowd was going nuts the entire game and the players seemed to feed up.

Toronto Raptors Notable Stats:
Jonas Valanciunas- 25pts, 11reb.
Kyle Lowry- 22pts, 5reb, 4stl.
Demar DeRozan- 21pts, 2reb, 4ast.

Milwaukee Bucks Notable Stats:

John Henson- 18pts, 12reb, 4stl.
Michael Carter-Williams- 17pts, 3reb, 5ast.
Miles Plumlee- 12pts, 13reb.

Re: NBA: "30 Teams, 30 Perspectives."

are you watching the games or just simming them?
would be great if you had videos of the finishes to some of the close games.

none the less this has been interesting, and i'm interested to find out how you will handle the regular season when all 30 teams are playing.

Thanks for the positive feedback. It usually depends on the amount of time I have. I would say it's more of a 1 to 2 ratio of games watched to games simulated. Videos may be something I look into in the future.

As far as the regular season goes it's a tough call. On one hand I think it will be too time consuming with little interest to do a week by week basis. I may do a Pre all star break summary, storylines and etc. and then a Post all star break but nothing is set yet.

Western Conference Quarter Finals: Game 6 Recaps:

[3] San Antonio Spurs (3-3) lose again for the second straight game in a row to the [6] Los Angeles Clippers (3-3), 108-101. The Clippers have forced a game 7 and even though it is on the Spurs home floor the momentum is in full swing for the clippers. Blake Griffin stepped up along with Chris Paul to put the Spurs in full panic mode.

San Antonio Spurs Notable Stats:
Kawhi Leonard- 28pts, 4reb, 3stl.
Tim Duncan - 16pts, 11reb, 4ast.

Los Angeles Clippers Notable Stats:

Eastern Conference Quarter Finals: Game 6 Recaps:

[1] Atlanta Hawks (4-2) dominate and shut the door on the [8] Charlotte Hornets (2-4) season on the Hornets' home floor, 111-89. Al Horford came to play and put the team on his back and took it to Al Jefferson all game long. The Hornets just turned the ball over too much to come away with the victory. Their play was very sloppy and the Hawks took advantage.

Atlanta Hawks Notable Stats:
Al Horford- 36pts, 12reb, 2ast.
Kyle Korver- 22pts, 5reb, 3ast.
Paul Millsap- 16pts, 13reb, 4ast.

Charlotte Hornets Notable Stats:
Kemba Walker- 20pts, 2reb, 3ast.
Cody Zeller- 10pts, 10reb.
Al Jefferson- 18pts, 10reb, 2blk.

Re: NBA: "30 Teams, 30 Perspectives."

Are the Spurs Finished?

The Spurs now find themselves in a Game 7 against the Los Angeles Clippers after being up 3 to 1 in the series. The Spurs showed some fight in game 6, unlike their game 5 blowout in which was one of the worst playoff losses on the Spurs Home floor in franchise history.

The Clippers have the chance to actually put themselves on the map and be in the right direction of overtaking Los Angeles. With the exception of game 4 Blake Griffin has showed up every game and played big. He wasn't the reason they down 3-1, but he is responsible for the motivation and leadership in their comeback.

So we are about to go into a game 7 where it is do or die. There is a lot at stake for both teams. The defending champs look to defend and repeat for the first time in the Popovich Era. The Clippers look to finally make a name for themselves. They have the tools in place to make some serious noise, now all they have to do is complete the comeback that would go down as one of the most epic playoff moments in NBA History.

Re: NBA: "30 Teams, 30 Perspectives."

The Spurs Halt the Comeback and Advance!

Many analysts were saying the Spurs needed Kawhi or Timmy to step up and take over. The Spurs TEAM took over. With 5 players in double figures and the bench giving solid offensive production it was just enough to outlast the Clippers.

The game was phenomenal to say the least. The Clippers lead most of the way by Matt Barnes coming from nowhere and hitting his first four 3's. DeAndre Jordan also played big on both ends of the court.

Danny Green came in clutch in the beginning of the fourth and made 2 big 3's back to back to put the Spurs even with the Clippers with only a few minutes remaining. Tim Duncan and Tony Parker connected on two beautiful passes on the next two possessions to give them the go ahead baskets.

Chris Paul was nowhere to be found most of the game and sadly for the Clippers he couldn't make much needed baskets in the closing seconds. After the loss Chris Paul collapsed and sat against the basket and put his head between his legs. Blake Griffin just stood mid court for many minutes after the game just looking at the scoreboard.

The Spurs advance and look to take on a impressive Houston squad who dominated the banged up Mavericks in the first round. Now the Spurs can breathe a sigh of relief.
