The 2008 Radford Recruiting Class

Coach Danny Carmichael brought in the best recruiting class Radford University has ever seen. This Radford recruiting class is ranked 52nd in the nation, 7th among Mid-Majors, and it's the top recruiting class in the Big South Conference.

Carmichael was able to get 4 commits... All of them were rated as 3*s.

Radford Highlanders Recruiting - 2008
NAMEPOSCLASSHOMETOWNHTWTCALIBER
Sammy Coleman (285)#85 PGHSNewport News, VA6'0174
Cordell Darden (368)#24 CHSSan Bernardino, CA6'10234
Landon Snow (377)#89 SFHSWilliamsburg, VA6'5199
Bud Mann CJUCO SoLee's Summit, MO7'0231

Headlining the class is 3* PG Sammy Coleman, who is from Newport News, VA. Coleman is rated as the #85 PG in the country and the #285 overall player. Coleman is a great ball handler, on ball defender, and mid range jump shooter. Don't be surprised if Coleman plays a little SG this upcoming year because of the lack of depth.

Next, is 3* C Cordell Darden who is from San Bernardino, CA. Darden is rated as the #24 Center in the country and the #368 overall player. Darden is a great rebounder, post defender, and has a pretty good post up game. He may get a look at PF this upcoming summer.

The final HS recruit in this class is 3* SF Landon Snow, who is from Woodbridge, VA. Snow is rated as the #89 SF in the country and the #377 overall player. Snow is a fantastic mid range jump shooter, good on ball defender, and can jump out of the gym... so prepare to see some high flying dunks for the next 4 years with Landon Snow on the roster.

The final signee is 3* JUCO Sophomore C Bud Mann who is originally from Lee's Summit, MO. Along with Darden, Mann gives the Highlanders something that they don't have... which is size in the post. Mann is 7'0" 231 lbs and is athletic enough to play in Coach Carmichael's up-tempo style of baketball. Mann is a great rebounder, shot blocker, and has a pretty good post up game. Mann will probably start at Center from his first day on campus.
